Universal shelves allow you to store anything you want on them. Such structures are the best option for placement not only in a garage or industrial premises, but also in an office or a summer cottage. Even at home, a universal shelving unit will become a practical and interesting part of the interior.

Universal racks are made of metal and wood, less often of plywood or reinforced concrete. Each shelf is capable of supporting up to 300 kg. The design is characterized by the absence of bolted connections, which makes assembly and operation as simple and convenient as possible. All elements are held together with special hooks.

Universal shelving can be divided into several categories.

• Shelving cabinets. This design is almost no different from an ordinary rack, but inside is equipped with a place for hangers, shelves and cages at the same time.

• Cellular. They consist entirely of small compartments. There are back, side and inner walls. They usually store small batches of small items.

• Checkpoints. Such structures take up a large area in the room. They consist of vertical posts, which are interconnected by horizontal elements (corners). The corner shelves face inward to accommodate pallets.

• Gravitational. These structures have sloped shelves. There are loading and unloading sides. The mechanism is quite simple: after the products have been placed on the loading side, the cargo is moved to the unloading section under the influence of gravity.

• Mobile. They are produced with rollers along the travel aisles. Such a rack is usually used for long-term storage of small-sized cargo.

• A separate type of storage racks for pipes and rolled metal.

Universal shelving can play different roles depending on the location. They will find application in any area of ​​life. For production and storage facilities, the largest and most durable models are taken so that they can withstand heavy loads. In retail outlets, they are used to store large quantities of products. For offices, they choose racks with shelves equipped with partitions to create separate cells where folders and other documentation can be stored.

When choosing a design, you need to consider:

• the size of the room where the rack will stand;
• the estimated load and dimensions of items that will be on the shelves;
• material of manufacture.

The structure must have a margin for additional loads and the ability to change the internal configuration. You also need to pay attention to the stability and safety of the model.
