Companion wallpaper for the bedroom

To decorate a bedroom in a beautiful, modern and unusual way, interior designers offer hundreds, thousands of different options for every taste. Wallpaper has been one of the most popular finishing methods for many years. A wide range of colors and textures allows you to decorate your favorite bedroom in any style.

Of course, you can decorate a bedroom with dignity with wallpaper of the same color or pattern, but companions have a number of advantages over similar materials. Among them:

• Originality... The combination of two wallpapers of different patterns always looks fresher and more unusual than the design of one, even the most beautiful type of wallpaper.

• The ability to create bright accents. Depending on the choice of color, pattern and method of pasting, you can focus on a certain wall or part of it, for example, beautifully beat an architectural ledge, a mirror hanging on the wall, a picture.

• Zoning. With the help of contrasting wallpaper, you can conditionally divide the room into several zones (for reading, work, rest).

When choosing wallpaper partners, you must adhere to the following rules and recommendations:

• geometric print (strip) will help to visually "stretch" a small room up or to the side;

• a small print on the wallpaper looks good in small rooms and vice versa - large ornaments are acceptable in spacious rooms.

There can be a lot of options for combining different wallpapers. Basically, this is a plain + printed canvas. Geometry, floral pattern, fantasy drawing, abstraction, marine theme and other options are used as a print.

Another option is wallpaper with the same pattern, but with a different background color. Regardless of the type of companions, they should be combined with each other in texture, color and pattern. Only then will the interior of the bedroom have a complete and harmonious look.

To decorate a bedroom in a certain stylistic direction, you need to know exactly the principles that underlie each style.

• Baroque. A style of luxury and wealth. Textured, beautiful, wallpapers decorated with complex patterns and ornaments are suitable here. Often, inserts from a contrasting look of wallpaper are additionally decorated with baguettes and frames.

• Classic. Traditional curls, medallions, rich colors. Printed wallpapers are combined with solid stripes in deep, rich tones. Particular attention is paid to the headboard.

• Modern. This style includes elegant designs, soft, warm colors, prints in the form of plants, birds and animals.

• East style. "1000 and One Nights" and other oriental tales have always been associated with luxury and wealth. Therefore, the ornaments that adorn the wallpaper are distinguished by their complexity and unusual shapes, beautiful colors and original patterns.

• Provence. A French provincial style characterized by delicate pastel colors and an unpretentious print (small flowers).

• The Japanese style is a minimum of decor, contrasting colors, traditional ornaments (cranes, fans, hieroglyphs, sakura branch).

Typically, this interior design option can be done in several ways:

• Vertical. With this method of pasting, the stripes are applied vertically to the wall. In this case, the stripes of the companions must have the same width.

When choosing colors, you can rely on three basic rules:

• contrast (a bright option that highlights and limits the interior of the room):
• monochrome companions (stripes are in the same color, but in different shades);
• complementary companions (middle version, not contrasting. Natural, natural shades emphasize each other beautifully).

• Horizontal. Plain and printed stripes run horizontally. Most often, darker wallpapers are located at the bottom of the wall, and lighter ones are at the top.

• Use of decorative patches. An interesting design option, when plain wallpaper is used as the main background, on which pieces of different colors, prints and textures are placed in a certain or chaotic order. The flaps can be of any shape and size.

• Inserts. Large pieces-inserts of printed wallpaper with a contrasting color and texture are glued onto plain wallpaper. As an additional decoration, the insert is made out with a thin border, molding or wooden frame.

A very gentle and romantic design option. A soft green color was chosen as the main background. Its companion is snow-white wallpaper with pink-purple flowers. The same motif is repeated in the curtains and bedspread.
