Tool trays
Lodgement is a very convenient and correct way to store tools. Otherwise, we can say that this is a special rack with grooves of various shapes. This option is perfect for both industrial scale use and compact storage at home. The lodgement is easy to transport and place in places of use: at the workplace, in a movable tool trolley. Doesn't take up much space, optimizes storage.
Today, in view of the large assortment of products presented, it is sometimes difficult to choose the correct and most convenient lodgment. It is important to remember about the quality of the material from which the rack is made, as well as the convenience of placing the tools. The most durable is plastic or polyurethane. The higher the quality of the material, the more convenient it will be to store the tool and fix it in place.
Material selection
You can make a lodgement yourself, without resorting to large material investments and special means. The main advantage when creating a do-it-yourself lodgement is the convenient placement of all the tools just for you. Also, there is no need to re-purchase the tool, which has to be done when buying ready-made lodgements. You can categorize the tools according to the frequency of their use or, for example, according to the degree of need.
The device can be made of wood, plywood, plastic, but the most convenient and practical option is foamed polyethylene. It is often used to create sports mats, in insulation or for packaging goods.
The thickness of the material (sheet) for the manufacture of the lodgment can be selected independently. The most suitable sheet thickness is 10-12 mm.
How to make?
The prepared polyethylene sheet must be cut to the length and width of the box, where it will later be equipped. Further, the tools are laid out on the sheet in the desired order, and using a marker, the sizes of the inserts with cells are determined.
It is necessary to cut out the forms for the tools. If desired, the finished lodgment can be painted. Using a similar technology, it is easy to make your own inserts for press tools.
You can also make a lodgement using polyurethane foam. This option will not be as practical as the previous one, but the main functions of the created structure will remain. To do this, you need to take a box in which the tools will subsequently be laid, and carefully fill it with polyurethane foam. After 20 minutes, the surface of the foam will be resilient and flexible to reshaping.
Next, the process of creating a lodgement begins directly. In order not to stain the tool, you can wrap it in a bag or moisten the surface of the foam with water and put a film on it. It is necessary to gently press each tool into the surface of the polyurethane foam. Thus, after the surface has completely dried, the cells will be ready.
