All about Alcaplast siphons

Not only the convenience of its operation, but also the expected period before its replacement often depends on the correct choice of plumbing. Therefore, it is worth considering the features of the Alcaplast siphon range.

The Alcaplast company was founded in the Czech Republic in 1998 and is engaged in the production of a wide range of sanitary ware from high quality plastic. Currently, the company's products are represented in more than 40 countries, including the Russian Federation.

The company produces siphons designed for various types of plumbing. Let's consider the characteristics of popular models for different purposes in more detail.

The assortment of bath products from the Czech company is divided into several subseries. The simplest and most accessible of them is Basic, which presents two options.

• A501 - option for standard size bathtubs with a 5.2 cm drain diameter. Equipped with an overflow system with a flexible corrugated hose. A "wet" water seal system with a swivel elbow is used. Flow rate - up to 52 l / min. Resistant to temperatures up to 95 ° C. Waste and overflow inserts are made of chrome.
• A502 - in this model the inserts are made of white plastic and the flow rate is limited to 43 l / min.

The "Automatic" series includes models in which the drain valve is closed automatically by means of a Bowden cable. Siphons A51CR, A51CRM, A55K and A55KM are similar in characteristics to the A501 model and differ only in the color of the inserts.

The company offers a range of models equipped with an overflow bath filling system. The following products are equipped with this function:

• A564;
• A508;
• A509;
• A565.

In the Click / Clack series, there are models equipped with a system of opening and closing the drain hole by pressing with a finger or a foot. It features the models A504, A505 and A507, which differ in the design of the inserts. The A507 KM version is designed for relatively low bath heights.

The series of standard siphons for shower stalls and low trays includes models A46, A47 and A471, which are available in diameters of 5 and 6 cm. Models A48, A49 and A491 are designed for installation in holes with a diameter of 9 cm.

For tall showers with overflow, models A503 and A506 are available, which are additionally equipped with a Click / Clack system. The same system is installed on versions A465 and A466 with a diameter of 5 cm and A476 with a diameter of 6 cm.

To connect washing machines to the sewage system, the Czech company produces both outdoor siphons and built-in siphons. Round models have external design:

• APS1;
• APS2;
• APS5 (equipped with a burst valve).

For placement under plaster options are designed:

• APS3;
• APS4;
• APS3P (with a burst valve).

For installation in a washbasin, the company offers vertical models - "bottles" A41 with a stainless steel grate, A42, where this part is made of plastic (both options are available with and without a fitting) and A43 with a union nut. And also a siphon A45 with a horizontal elbow is offered.

A wide range of products of various shapes and sizes is offered for sinks. The most popular of these are the vertical "bottles" A441 (with a stainless steel grill) and A442 (with a plastic grill), available with or without a fitting. Siphons A444 and A447 are designed for sinks with overflow. A449, A53 and A54 are suitable for double sinks.

For urinals, the company produces various modifications of the A45 model:

• A45G and A45E - metal U-shaped;
• A45F - U-shaped plastic;

• A45B - horizontal siphon;
• A45C - vertical option;
• A45A - vertical with a cuff and a “bottle” branch pipe.

You should start choosing a model by measuring the drain hole of your plumbing. The diameter of the inlet of the siphon to be selected must match this value, otherwise the sealing of the connection will be problematic. The same applies to the diameter of the outlet of the product, which must fully correspond to the diameter of the hole in the sewer pipeline.

When choosing the number of inlets in the siphon, take into account all the equipment you have that requires access to the sewer (washing machines and dishwashers).
