One of the most popular and beloved by many houseplants is the violet. And it is not surprising: it is quite easy to care for such a flower, it does not require special knowledge and skills, but at the same time it is very attractive in its appearance. Today there is a huge variety of violet subspecies.

Among them, "Le-Luntik" stands out for its beauty (popularly this species is simply called "Luntik"): the plant has a non-standard color.

Description of the variety

First of all, it must be said that by its nature "Luntik" is a saintpolia, which has nothing to do with violets. However, "violet" is a more familiar name for a flower, so this word is most often used. The main biological difference between Saintpaulia and violets is the need for care. It is believed that the violet is absolutely picky, while the Saintpaulia needs more careful and attentive treatment. But Luntik is easy to look after.

Even a novice gardener can cope with this task.

To make sure that the violet "Luntik" - the right choice for your mini home garden, it is necessary to study the botanical features of the variety. The flower was bred by the breeder Elena Anatolyevna Lebetskaya. The color of this plant is dark blue with a purple tint. It was in connection with the rich color that the violet got its name: after all, the cartoon character Luntik is painted in just such a tone.

It is important to note that this variety is not uniform in color.... It is considered fantasy. This is the name of violets with specks of different shapes and strokes of a different color on the petals. "Le-Luntik" has a white eye, and on the surface of its flowers there may be small blotches of pink. However, they may not be present on every flower. There is no need to worry about this: this is a natural characteristic of Luntik. The number of blotches may increase with subsequent flowering.

A small rosette is formed neatly and compactly. The velvety leaves of the plant are dark green in color with pronounced variegation along the edges. However, the variegation is not intense and constant, over time it can disappear. The flowering process takes place in the form of a bouquet. The semi-double petals are decorated with a neat light border. The flowers are not large in size. On the contrary, they are rather small: their maximum size does not exceed 4 cm.

They keep on reliable peduncles.

Care

Violet "Luntik" is picky: it grows well and just multiplies. Nevertheless, experts still advise you to follow some simple rules.

  • During the watering process, it is important to ensure that no water gets on the violet leaves. Therefore, it is better to use the drip irrigation method or sump irrigation. In addition, it is worth considering that the water in the pot should not linger, so you need to carefully calculate the volume of water and ensure drainage.
  • When it comes to lighting, the flower needs a lot of light. It can be safely placed on a windowsill or any other well-lit surface. At the same time, we must not forget that direct sunlight - especially direct scorching in the hot season - is destructive, the plant must be protected from them. If you want to ensure the blooming of violets in late autumn and even in winter, then you need to provide artificial lighting.
  • Another important characteristic is the temperature regime. Violet variety "Luntik" does not tolerate temperatures below + 20 ° C.At the same time, it is advisable to avoid extremely high rates above + 35 ° C. A prerequisite is the presence of fresh air, the absence of drafts is obligatory.
  • Most often, the plant is bred by cuttings. But in order to confidently preserve a fantasy color during reproduction, it is better to produce it with the help of stepsons.

Reviews

Housewives and people involved in the cultivation of violets "Luntik" speak very positively about the plant. Many growers are attracted by the compact rosette and bright color with color splashes. However, they note that after propagation, new young plants may not have all the characteristics of the variety. For example, blotches may disappear or variegation may decrease.

Reviews say that "Luntik" may become the first plant for those who are just starting to get involved in floriculture: this violet is undemanding to care for, but at the same time, it is quite beautiful and bright.
