Not only lovers of folk art are thinking about what can be made from wood cuts. This material has a beautiful texture, with proper processing it looks very aesthetically pleasing. DIY crafts, a wall of saw cuts in the interior, drawings and a wooden owl, watches and other products - the scope for creativity is huge, you just need to make a little effort, and also choose the right wood.

Crafts and decor items made of treated wooden boards or bars no longer surprise anyone. Decorative items are made from individual rounded elements that have undergone special processing. Finished crafts can be varnished or other coatings, painted with moisture resistant paints.

It all starts with the choice of material. The dies obtained by side sawing of the trunk or branches can have different diameters. In general, the preparation of cuts includes six stages.

• Protection... Sawing in the cross direction makes the wood vulnerable to mold, mildew, and other factors. That is why, immediately after processing, the material is impregnated with special compounds, and then carefully polished.
• Texturing... Deep penetration impregnation helps to brighten the wood pattern. In addition to obtaining a more saturated texture, they can also paint the material in the desired colors and shades.
• Varnishing... The composition with protective and decorative functions allows you to save the saw cut from the appearance of rot, mold, fungus. You can also replace harsh chemicals with wax.

After decorative processing and sawing, the material is completely ready to create interesting decorative or applied products. It is optimal if the purpose of the thing is determined in advance. Then the quantity, color and other important characteristics can be calculated even during the procurement of raw materials.

The most popular among curly products from wood cuts are crafts in the form of animals. Rounded elements can be combined in the form of an owl, hare, bear. Figures of a rooster and an ant look interesting.

Among the simplest options, an owl can be distinguished, for the manufacture of which you will need:

• base in the form of a perch;
• two saw cuts with a diameter of 20 and 14-15 cm;
• 4 parts for the eyes: 2 x 5 cm and 2 x 2 cm;
• 2 half rings for the wings.

The largest saw cut is attached to the base branch, followed by the second, imitating the tail. In the upper part, eyes are fixed on top of each other with glue or carnations. Smaller items are not difficult to make. For example, from thin branches you can make cuts suitable for figures of hares. The workpiece consists of 4 circles up to 5 cm in diameter, 2 parts up to 3 cm. Halves of saw cuts are used for legs and ears. The craft is formed very simply:

• a head is attached between two large elements;
• paws and ears are added;
• faces are painted.

For such a decor, you can choose wood of the same type and species, or choose combined options. The sizes of the cuts do not have to be the same either. On the contrary, circles of different diameters allow you to show great imagination when arranging them.

There is no need to achieve a clear pattern. You will have to create a frame frame if the panel is small. To decorate the entire wall, it is enough to make markings on its surface. • Support for flowers. Most often it looks like a wide and flat base, fixed on legs. In the interior, such an element of decor looks very attractive. You can make multi-tiered stands on a metal frame.

Together with children, you can create original New Year's toys from wood cuts. To decorate the spruce, it is enough to prepare circles of different sizes, drill holes in them for suspension. The surface of the sanded saw cut is covered with white or blue paint, and then painted with thematic patterns. You can put wishes on it, give the blanks the shape of stars or bells.

A decorative herringbone can be assembled from slices of small diameter. For the base, you will need to take a piece of 5-7 cm thick branch with the same diameter. A flowerpot-flower bed is made from a thick saw cut, the width of which should be at least 40-50 cm, the height is chosen arbitrarily, based on the characteristics of the grown flowers, the height of their stems. For creating a flower garden, trees with a soft core are well suited, since it will have to be pulled out with a chisel or cut out. The bark is worth saving.

The procedure for creating a flowerpot includes three stages.

• Markup... You need to retreat from the outer edge of the bark about 5 cm, then draw a circle that supports such an interval along the edge.
• Creation of a depression. It can be formed naturally by drilling several holes, and then filling it with ammonium nitrate. After a few weeks, a depression will form. You can also burn out, hollow out, cut the middle part, or combine several methods.
• Install the resulting flower bed frame on the site... Fill the fertile soil inside, plant the plants.

Blanks made of natural wood may well replace classic paving stones or other coatings for paths in the country. With the right approach, such a path will serve for a long time, giving the landscape a special fabulous or ethnic style. Cuts are made from wood with the lowest porosity values. Ash, beech or oak, or other species with similar properties are suitable. The logs are dissolved into identical fragments of a similar size, 10-15 cm is enough.

The workpieces are impregnated with compounds that prevent the destruction of wood. After that, you can move on to a number of works.
