Rose is one of the most symbolic flowers with which lovers talk about their feelings. Luxurious and at the same time very delicate, even a single rose will become a real decoration of the room, not to mention large flower arrangements. Unfortunately, cut flowers have a very short lifespan, and not everyone can afford to buy a new bouquet every week. In this case, artificial flowers, bought or even created with your own hands, will come to the rescue.

Advantages and disadvantages

Unfortunately, it so happened that in our country people were very negatively disposed towards artificial flowers for a long time, comparing such bouquets with cemetery wreaths. However, the quality of artificial materials in recent years has stepped up so rapidly that sometimes a bouquet for decoration looks exactly like living buds.

At the same time, unlike real flowers, it has many advantages.

  • Artificial materials require a minimum of maintenance. They do not need to be watered, change their water, remove fallen leaves.

  • Decorative roses will not cause allergies in their owner.

  • Real green stems and leaves are easy to break with an awkward hand or drop, and man-made materials are not as fragile.

  • They are unaffected by lighting conditions, room temperature, and the presence of small children or animals.

  • Beetles or midges will not start in artificial flowers, they will not rot, dry out or die.

  • Such roses can easily be left unattended, having gone on vacation or a business trip.

  • You can disassemble old boring compositions and create new ones using individual flowers.

An impressive list of merits. Of the minuses, only three can be distinguished.

  • First and foremost, they do not have a smell inherent in living flowers.

  • The artificial flower is static. It does not grow, does not dissolve buds and does not ozonize the room.

  • If the paint and materials are of poor quality, such man-made roses will quickly fade in the sun.

What are they?

All the variety of ornamental plants, depending on the design, can be divided into individual flowers and whole flower arrangements. Compositions can be performed in the following form.

  • Bouquet. Roses can be collected on a single stem, placed in a vase or pot, placed in a basket or box. Such compositions can be either collapsible, consisting of individual roses, or have a rigid non-separable base.

  • Panel. This is a three-dimensional construction, reminiscent of a picture or applique, on which flowers with stems and leaves are glued or only the rose buds themselves.

In addition, artificial plants can be divided into several groups depending on the material from which they are made.

Plastic

Quite rough material, from which only massive bush roses look good. They are very rarely used to decorate apartments or houses, but the porch or gazebo of the country house, decorated with such a bush, will truly enchant all guests.

A separate plus of plastic is ease of cleaning. It is enough to spray these pink thickets with water from a hose, and they look like new again.

Textile

Potted and cut flowers for the home are usually made from textiles. It can be durable synthetics or soft felt, bright red silk or foamiran. A huge peony rose made of textiles looks very beautiful on a coffee or bedside table, surrounded by smaller decor. The main thing is to keep such bouquets away from direct sunlight so that the fabric does not fade.

Real Touch technology

This type includes roses made from modern synthetic materials such as polyurethane, latex or silicone. Such flowers can even be printed on a home 3D printer, and to the touch be exact copies of real delicate petals.

Ceramics

Polymer clay modeling is a popular hobby. Using this technique, you can make amazingly beautiful compositions that outwardly will be almost indistinguishable from real plants. Unfortunately, polymer buds are not very durable. They are afraid of falls, water, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. But the subtlety and beauty of such porcelain bouquets can captivate anyone.

Stabilized

These artificial roses are made from real living plants. When the flower is in its maximum flowering stage, it is cut, moisture is removed from the tissues using a special technology and they are filled with a glycerin solution. The same solution is applied to the entire surface of the petals, leaves and stem. The lifespan of a stabilized rose with proper care is at least 4-5 years.

How to decorate your interior?

Of course, to create the perfect composition that fits into a specific interior, it will take more than one week of training. However, both a beginner and an experienced designer should definitely start work by drawing up a design project.

  • First of all, you need to determine in what style the room is decorated in which it is supposed to install the flower arrangement.

  • Next, it is worth considering its size and shape. Will it be a beautiful panel on the wall, pots suspended from the wall or a huge armful of roses, as if casually poured into a wicker basket.

  • Choose the desired color scheme that matches the color scheme of the room. This can be a bedroom in pastel colors complemented by white roses or a bright color spot of a yellow bouquet in a blue-green kitchen made of metal and plastic.

  • Find out prices for ready-made compositions and individual flowers from various materials and from various manufacturers. Sometimes it is cheaper to turn to professionals than to make a bouquet yourself, especially if the experience of creating artificial roses is still too small.

  • Only after that, you can purchase a finished composition or materials for its manufacture.

How to care?

Caring for handmade flowers is very simple and depends only on the material from which they are made. Plastic, polymer and porcelain plants can be washed with water or wiped with wet wipes.

Fan fabric compositions with a feather duster, wipe with dry soft napkins and even dry-clean.

And almost all soft materials can be treated with a steam cleaner.

Beautiful examples

For a hall or living room in a classic style, lush bouquets of white or classic red flowers in transparent glass vases are suitable.

Tall polymer roses in simple pots and vases will fit well into an empty corner of a hallway or corridor. And individual craftsmen place lamps inside artificial buds, creating lamps and nightlights from them. Such a night light of an unusual color is well suited even for a child's room.

Carelessly collected bouquets of peony roses in all shades of fuchsia and white will decorate the Provence style kitchen. A panel of purple or even black foamiran roses will become a real highlight of a high-tech room.
