Bianca hybrid tea rose is a very delicate flower, the beauty of which can be admired endlessly. The variety is unpretentious in care, it steadily resists most infectious diseases. The plant is suitable for classic flower gardens, groups or cutting.
Description of the variety
Rosa Bianca is an erect, branched, rounded bush, the height of which reaches a maximum of 100 cm, width 75 cm. The plant has large foliage of a rich dark green color, with a glossy surface. A large number of large thorns are formed on the shoots.
Despite the fact that the buds are small, on average 6-8 cm in diameter, they are distinguished by extraordinary purity of color with a slight "green". The flowers are goblet.
According to the number of petals, the variety belongs to densely doubled. Each contains 30-40 pieces. One stem contains from 1 to 3 flowers. Bianca has a very intense aroma. The flower smells strongly of myrrh.
Advantages and disadvantages
Among the advantages are an attractive decorative appearance, high resistance to most diseases and increased frost resistance (it can withstand temperatures up to -29 degrees). In addition, the hybrid tea rose does not require any special care skills. The plant has practically no flaws, if they do exist, then they are insignificant.
Flowering features
The rose does not bloom profusely, but is re-blooming. Moreover, flowering occurs quite quickly. The flowering period is long - from early June to the onset of frost.
Use in landscape design
It is best to plant the bushes in groups at a distance of 50 cm from each other. With this method of planting, the plants resemble a single whole with several main points, creating a more spectacular presentation during the flowering period. And also the plant looks beautiful when grown together with ornamental shrubs and perennials.
Landing
The culture can be planted in a permanent place in both spring and autumn. You can plant a plant both in a lighted area and in the shade, the main thing is that there is protection from drafts. Rosa Bianca prefers to grow in moist, well-drained soil. The plant prefers the acidity level of the soil to be neutral or slightly alkaline.
Growing and care
In the case of purchasing a seedling with an open root system, it must be soaked in warm water for several hours. Damaged shoots are removed, weak ones are cut off. The stronger ones shorten, which is good for faster growth.
The planting pit should be prepared in advance, a few days before the day of planting. It should be slightly larger than the root system so that the roots can be freely located in the hole.
The depth of the pit should be at least 50 cm. A drainage layer of sand, gravel or expanded clay is laid on the bottom. The rose categorically does not tolerate stagnant water in the roots. This is followed by a nutritious soil mixture consisting of rotted manure, garden soil, sand and peat. The optimal time for planting Bianca roses is May. By this time, the soil has already warmed up enough, and the plant will have time to successfully root during the summer.
Young seedlings are abundantly irrigated with settled water, carefully rammed and laid with a layer of mulch. For successful rooting, the plant after planting is watered with water with a solution that stimulates root formation.
Further care for Bianca consists in regular watering, loosening, fertilizing, disease prevention, shelter for the winter and sanitary pruning.
Watering and feeding
Young plants especially need regular watering. Not only the top layer of the soil should be wetted, but also reach the depth of the root tips (about 30-40 cm). Irrigation is carried out 2 times a week, 25-30 liters per 1 bush. When dry and hot weather sets in, watering and frequency is doubled.
Since the rose is a moisture-loving crop, a layer of mulch is laid for less moisture loss from the soil. And also regularly loosening of the soil is carried out, weeding from the weed of the near-trunk soil.
Fertilizers are applied in the spring (nitrogen-containing substances) and in the middle of summer during the period of active flowering (phosphorus-potassium dressing). The choice of complex fertilizers is quite large, you can use both mineral and organic fertilizers.
Pruning
In the year of planting, roses are not allowed to bloom. The buds must be removed so that the plant does not waste its energy on flowering. Pruning is a mandatory procedure that is carried out several times a year. The first post-planting - the shoots are cut to 3-4 buds. In the spring, the event is carried out before the awakening of the kidneys.
Sanitary pruning consists of removing dry, damaged twigs, thinning and shaping the crown.
Frost resistance and preparation for winter
Despite the fact that the Bianca rose can withstand frosts down to -29 degrees, it is advisable to cover it for the winter. For this, the bushes are covered with sawdust, straw or agrofibre.
