Alegria spray rose continuously blooming during the warm season will be an excellent decoration for a suburban area or local area. A shrub-like rose can be used to decorate a park area. It can be planted in flower beds in urban areas. Ease of maintenance and high decorative effect make it possible to improve territories and landscape areas without any extra effort.
Breeding history of the variety
A group of varieties of spray roses appeared recently, in the second half of the 20th century, and gained great popularity among lovers of such flowers. The Alegria variety was bred in 2007 by breeders of the agricultural company De Ruiter-Innovations, specializing in the cultivation of roses.
Description of the variety
Spray rose Alegria has the shape of a bush that grows up to 60 cm in height and 40 cm in width. It is distinguished by high decorativeness and non-stop flowering. Up to 80 inflorescences can bloom on one branch.
The orange-colored bud has the shape of an elegant glass, the size of the flowers reaches 5 cm. The blossoming inflorescence lasts up to 14 days. Small buds are collected in umbellate inflorescences, forming lush "caps" in the center of the rose bush. The plant blooms all season, it winters well in the open field and does not require special care, it is distinguished by good resistance to diseases.
Advantages and disadvantages
The benefits of the Alegria variety include:
high immunity;
high decorativeness;
frost resistance in the presence of shelter;
long flowering;
the presence of terry petals;
simplicity and unpretentiousness of care;
long preservation of buds on the bush and in the cut.
The disadvantage is the lack of aroma, however, when carrying out landscape gardening, this property of the plant allows you to plant a large number of flowers of various types in a small area. The bud contains up to 35 petals. The branches of the rose bush are abundantly covered with leaves with a dark green glossy surface.
Flowering features
Small-flowered spray rose Alegria blooms profusely and for a long time. Inflorescences, characterized by medium doubleness, bloom up to 2 weeks both on the bush and in the cut. Spray rose of this variety is distinguished by continuous flowering throughout the warm season.
Use in landscape design
When planted in open areas, Alegria is often used for landscaping indoor yards or patios. Looks great in combination with other ornamental plants, including those with a strong aroma. The rose is suitable for planting in flower beds and for border landscaping.
Growing regions
The variety is intended for growing outdoors in central Russia, as well as in the southern regions of the Russian Federation. And also it is suitable for growing in the south of the Urals and Siberia in the open field, if you properly prepare a winter shelter for such a plant.
Landing
It is necessary to plant a rose bush of spray roses Alegria in a place sheltered from the winds and in well-lit areas of the garden, but not in the sun. The soil should be well moistened, with an acid-base level of 5.6 to 7.3 pH. The root system of the seedlings should be placed in a hole at least 50 cm deep. A good drainage of sand or gravel should first be done. Alegria rose should be planted in May. Before planting, 3 parts of manure, 2 parts of fertile soil and one part of sand with peat should be added to the soil.Before planting in the ground, you need to hold the seedlings for 4 to 6 hours in water.
Growing and care
Although the variety is considered unpretentious, like any roses, it requires regular and abundant watering and needs regular feeding. In the spring, at the beginning of the growing season, the rose bush should be sanitized. During the summer, the land around the bush should be weeded and loosened regularly.
Watering and feeding
Water the spray rose of this variety abundantly at least once a week. Top dressing is carried out with special ready-made compounds or manure at the beginning and in the middle of the warm season. To increase flowering, potassium-phosphorus compounds are used; to strengthen the young bush, ammonium nitrate, nitrogen-containing fertilizers and magnesium are used.
Pruning
In order for the rose bush to retain its high decorative effect, it is necessary to regularly prune it. In summer, shoots with flowers can be used for cut bouquets. In general, pruning should be done three times per season:
in spring, removing dry shoots;
in summer, cutting off wilted flowers;
in the fall, preparing the bush for shelter for the winter.
With the help of the timely removal of wilted and dried shoots, effective prevention of infectious diseases can be carried out.
Frost resistance and preparation for winter
The variety is resistant to frost if properly sheltered before winter. The general condition of the plant in spring depends on a properly carried out shelter. To prepare Alegria for winter, you need:
remove dry branches and inflorescences;
form a good earthen ball;
make a sand or peat embankment;
cover the bush with branches or dry grass.
You can use a new method of shelter by creating a metal frame made of wire over the cut bush at a height of 40 cm, and then cover it with foam or other insulation, and then cover it with plastic wrap, which is fixed at the edges with earth or stones. You need to cover the plant before the onset of frost.
Diseases and pests
Although the variety is resistant to various types of infectious diseases and pests, it is required to regularly sanitize at the beginning of the season with insecticidal preparations against various pests:
aphids;
spider mite;
cicadas;
caterpillars-leaf rollers.
This variety of spray rose bush has good resistance to infectious and fungal diseases, provided it is properly cared for during cultivation. Spray roses are known to suffer from powdery mildew and black spot. The Alegria variety is resistant to such diseases. If a white bloom or black spots appear on the flower, it must be treated with Bordeaux liquid or 0.5% soda ash solution. As a preventive procedure, after wintering in the spring, it is required to treat the bush with Bordeaux liquid. To prevent the plant from contracting fungal diseases, during the preparation of the rose for wintering, you need to remove the fallen leaves in the near-stem circle.
Reproduction
The plant propagates by cuttings. For reproduction in this way, thin lower shoots are used, having 3-4 leaves and several buds. The material for the cuttings should be cut at an angle of 45 degrees, keeping a couple of buds for future shoots and one top leaf.
It is better to harvest cuttings in the warm season, from May to August, when the bush is actively growing. Rooted cuttings, cooked during the summer and fall, are planted in a permanent place, covered with a glass or plastic jar.
