Breeding history of the variety
The variety was obtained in 1996 on the basis of the famous Louis Lens Roses. This pink nursery has a long history, founded back in 1870 by Louis Lens, who was even called the king of musk roses. And this is no coincidence, since the Belgian nursery gained immense fame precisely thanks to the cultivation of musk hybrids. In 1998, 2 years after its creation, the Alden Biesen rose received its first award at the Rose Competition in Geneva (Switzerland) - it was a gold medal.
Description of the variety
The Alden Biesen rose bush is distinguished by its density, power, it is rather branched. The height of the plant can reach 180 cm, and its width is 120 cm. The leaves of the rose bush are dark green, medium-sized, semi-glossy.
Of course, the main advantage is flowers. The flower of the Alden Biesen rose has shades from bright pink to light pink, while the reverse side of the petals is mother-of-pearl, in the center there are yellow stamens on a white background. The bud is simple, cupped, with 4 to 11 petals per flower. The roses themselves are small, their diameter is 3-4 cm. The variety is distinguished by a light aroma of flowers.
Advantages and disadvantages
Rose Alden Biesen has plenty of positive qualities. The most important feature is the plant's frost resistance. The variety will be a godsend for rose lovers from regions with harsh winters. The plant is beautiful, hardy. The pluses include the scent of roses, which is not at all similar to the smell of other flowers. It is distinguished by spicy notes of clove, nut, rose oil. At the same time, both flowers and leaves smell. And a representative of the musky group of roses grows relatively well in partial shade. Some of the disadvantages refer to the relative simplicity of the flowers, but this is only a matter of the owner's taste.
Flowering features
Alden Biesen are re-flowering roses, and they bloom constantly, profusely and lastingly until autumn. The flowering period is from June to September. Musk rose flowers are collected in large inflorescences. A very interesting phase is the period when pink flowers fade in the sun, then they turn green and become covered with red dots, forming an original texture. Surprisingly, flowers are formed throughout the shoot and stay on the branches for a long time even in the heat.
Use in landscape design
Alden Biesen roses are a real boon for a landscaped garden. They attract attention from afar with their lace. They are sophisticated in their simplicity and also characterized by their subtle style. In the decor of the site, such a rose will decorate any corner for relaxation, a gazebo. It cannot be called a classic rose, but it is so charming and graceful. At any stage of their life, flowers will delight the eye. Due to the fact that the flowers last for a long time and fade gorgeous, this giant bush can be made as a tapeworm.
