Features of Reinforced Head Drivers

Keys made as wrenches are used in repair, installation and commissioning works. They serve as a good way to access hard-to-reach places that no ordinary open-end wrench can enter.

Reinforced socket driver can be used not only as a socket (tubular) wrench, but also under an adapter, for example, a tap for internal threading... It is also used as a rotator for the transition of a die holder with a hex or square head. Without a wrench, it is impossible to mount either the machine, or install / remove any large component from the car.

The collar is designed for inch and metric clearances equal to the head of a bolt or adapter for another tool (for example, a crank puller for a bicycle). There are such options for cranks:

It can also be magnetic devices (with a magnet mounted into the tube from the side of the ends), allowing the nuts to be lifted after unscrewing, and also to put them back on the bolt / stud when screwing, when it is not possible to reach it by hand, to crawl to the place of loosening and dismantling the fastener.

In their shape, the cranks are as follows.

• L-shaped. It resembles a wheel wrench. The first thing that comes to mind of any craftsman is replacing a wheel on a machine, tightened on a rotating running rod with the help of nuts screwed onto studs welded into the rotary block.

• T-shaped. A full-fledged collar that allows you to grab the key with both hands and thereby increase the torque generated by the muscular strength of the worker. Facilitates work in hard-to-reach places. The advantage of rotating nuts and bolts with both hands is the ability to use the maximum applied force under the influence of the weight of most of the body.

• Screwdriver... Looks like a pry bar or a crowbar with a flat end, resembles a giant screwdriver to many. It is used for loosening large slotted screws and bolts, sawn double and triple (in height) long nuts, which are not screwed in to their full height. This is essentially a big bit. However, in combination with a simple wrench, a bit is used that is several times superior to that used when working with a screwdriver.

• Articulated... It is a bending "knee" that makes it possible to crawl at an arbitrary angle where a regular angular or trigeminal crank would not cope. Some products are manufactured as telescopic (retractable) ones, their disadvantages are high weight or weakened structure.

• Shock... Designed to tear off a rusted or stuck bonded joint. Withstands hammer blows. Large wrenches are designed to work with a sledgehammer.

Among the manufacturers, there are several brands that have gained widespread popularity. Consider the best models from these brands.

• Liqota... Such wrenches are designed for repairs at factories and car service stations. Extremely wear-resistant, designed for intensive work, fulfilling a large number of orders.They do not change their properties even after several years of daily and many hours of work.

• NORGAU 550... Suitable for repairs in places with difficult access. They are used as a socket head tool. Fit size - inch. Made of chrome vanadium steel, chrome plated. Compliant with DIN 3123 standards.

• Berger 2113... 3/4 '' tool and 450mm long. Has a sliding head. Made of the same chrome vanadium steel. The landing square and reduced length led to a relatively reduced weight - only 1.4 kg. Manufactured in Russia. Thanks to its reduced weight, it is compact.

• ROCKFORCE RF-8158650 1DR 650 mm. Product for a 1-inch square, produced in Belarus. The collar is durable, made of steel. Does not have anti-corrosive coating.

• AV Steel. 1 '' crank, 550 mm, suitable for any format of fasteners (bolts and nuts). Especially appreciated by auto repair shop workers.

• KING TONY 6482-24G. ¾ ”model, 610-960 mm, with pivot and ratchet. The swivel head provides access from all 360 °. This product is made of alloy steel. Made in Taiwan.

• KING TONY 2177DF. ¼ ”device, 310 mm long, 2-piece handle included. The tool is used for socket heads and has been appreciated by auto technicians working alone and in a team. Not applicable for spot work.

Do not buy fake aluminum and similar alloys. Such a tool will not last long. Avoid using wrenches that are not ergonomic.

There is no need to use an overly expensive model or kit when you do not have an assembly line production or car repairs delivered to a wide flow. For rare occasional work, like changing a wheel on trips or repairing a car in the field, it makes sense to choose a long enough, but not too sophisticated tool, since expensive is not always the best. It should be comfortable and practical.
