  3. Selection Tips

Various types of electronics pick up FM signals, but the radio remains in demand among buyers. Many world-famous technology companies periodically release new models of such devices. One of the brands, among whose products you can always find several types of radio models, is Panasonic.

Advantages and disadvantages

Each type of technology and electronics has its own distinctive features that make it unique. There are several strengths and weaknesses in Panasonic radios as well.

It’s worth starting, as always, with the following advantages:

  • modern design;
  • good build quality;
  • durable materials;
  • high quality loud sound;
  • the presence of the AUX connector;
  • additional functions: playing audio files from a memory card, the ability to connect to a head unit for use as a speaker.

The disadvantages are not so numerous, but there are still:

  • not supplied with a proprietary power supply;
  • files from the memory card cannot be selected;
  • after a while, a gap may appear on the volume control.

Model overview

There are several models in the Panasonic line of radios.

RF-2400DEE-K

The device is manufactured exclusively in black. Laconic design and minimal set of functions are the hallmarks of the RF-2400DEE-K. During the design and production of this model, the main emphasis was placed on the ability to receive even a weak radio signal in the FM and AM bands. To listen to the radio in areas remote from the signal source, the presented model has a full-fledged telescopic antenna. High-quality sound reproduction is one of the most important characteristics of any acoustic device, including a radio receiver.

To solve this problem, the RF-2400DEE-K was installed speaker measuring 10 cm in diameter, equipped with noise cancellation function. The frequency selection is carried out using a mechanical regulator. It allows you to find the desired radio station in the shortest possible time. The backlighting of the scale and the large print of the numbers on it allow you to accurately select the frequencies even in conditions of insufficient illumination of the room. For the convenience of transporting the device, it has secure foldable handle.

The radio receiver can operate both from batteries and from the mains.

RF-800UEE-K

The radio is suitable for lovers of retro style. Despite the appearance, it has all the modern features, including digital mp3 player, AUX input, 3.5mm jack. The device allows you to listen to radio, audio files from a memory card or head unit in good quality. A single 2.5W speaker delivers the volume you need for indoor and outdoor use.

RF-3500E9-K

The classic design radio with black housing is durable and easy to use. Works in a wide frequency range:

  • FM 87.5 - 108 MHz;
  • AM 520 - 1610 kHz.

On the front side of the receiver there is a speaker with a power of 1 Watt. Despite the low power, the device produces high-quality mono sound. The total weight of the model in question is only 0.650 kg, which allows the device to be transported over long distances. A weak signal is received through a telescopic antenna. The device is powered by rechargeable batteries or mains.

RF-800UEE1-K

Like many models of Panasonic radios, the device with the RF-800UEE-K index is made in the classic retro style. All control and settings of the device are carried out using mechanical buttons and regulators.

The manufacturer offers the presented model exclusively in black. The single speaker of the device provides good volume. Its power is 2.5 W, which is a good indicator for radio receivers.

As additional functions, the model is equipped with an mp3 player, with which you can listen to audio files from a memory card or other device by connecting to it via the AUX input.

Selection Tips

To decide on a radio receiver model that will meet all the buyer's requirements, you need to pay attention to several basic characteristics.

View

All existing radios can be divided into two groups.

  1. Stationary... They are distinguished by their large size and weight. They compensate for the disadvantages with high quality and loudness of sound, confident reception of the radio signal. Such models are used at home, in the office and in other places where constant transportation of the device is not required.
  2. Portable. They differ in their small size and weight. They can be powered by mains or rechargeable batteries. As a material for the manufacture of the case of portable radio receivers, durable plastic is used, which can withstand significant mechanical stress. Some models are water and dust resistant, which is very convenient for travel or leisure use.

Frequency range

One of the most important characteristics of a radio receiver is the range of supported frequencies. Almost all popular Russian music radio stations operate in the FM range from 87.5 to 108 MHz. Even inexpensive radio models can receive AM signals. To listen to foreign radio stations, you need a device that receives waves in the FM, LW and MW bands.

Signal reception

The quality of the received signal depends on the type of the receiver antenna. They are of two types.

  • Built-in. They are installed on large stationary models. They provide a stable and high quality signal.
  • External. Due to the small size of portable devices, it is not possible to equip them with a built-in antenna. To receive a signal, they are equipped with telescopic antennas. All of them have a swivel mechanism that allows you to turn the antenna towards the best signal.

Another important condition for a high-quality signal is the selectivity of the model. This characteristic allows the radio receiver to extinguish the interference arising in the air.

Adjustment method

Depending on the method of tuning the wave, radio receivers are digital and analog.

  • Digital. They have the function of automatic search for radio waves. They can memorize the frequencies of radio stations, to turn on which it will be enough to press one button. Almost all digital radio receivers are equipped with a display that displays information about the current frequency and other data. Such models may have a number of additional options: an alarm clock, a sleep timer, an indication of the remaining battery charge and other features.
  • Analog. The search for the desired radio station is carried out using a mechanical regulator. The cost of analog devices is an order of magnitude lower than the price of digital radio receivers. Models with mechanical adjustment are suitable for those who constantly listen to one radio station. The disadvantages of such samples are inaccurate tuning and the inability to memorize the selected wave.
