Not only the quality of the work performed, but also the health of the personnel often depends on the timely cleaning of industrial and construction sites. The use of modern construction vacuum cleaners allows you to significantly speed up the cleaning and improve its quality. Therefore, it is worth considering the characteristics and range of Stihl vacuum cleaners.

Brand info

Stihl was founded in the German city of Waiblingen in 1926 as a small family business specializing in the development and production of chain saws and other equipment for the forestry industry. Representatives of the Stihl family run the company to this day. By the 70s of the XX century, the chainsaws of the German company became the most popular in the world.

Gradually, the range of products of the company expanded due to the release of new models of tools for the forestry, construction and agricultural industries. In 2016, the concern merged with Globe Tools, due to which the company's model range was replenished with household power tools. The company currently has a turnover of over 3 billion euros per year and has more than 30 subsidiaries in Germany and other countries around the world, including several factories in Switzerland and China.

Peculiarities

The main difference between Stihl products and most competitors is the famous German and Swiss build quality and used materials and components. Even the models assembled in China pass the Quality Control Department exactly according to European standards. Often, vacuum cleaners from a German company are more powerful than similar models. Finally, most models come with additional equipment and accessories, including:

  • quick-release coupling;
  • washable filter;
  • dust suction hose adapter.

This allows you to save on the purchase of related products and use Stihl vacuum cleaners not only for cleaning premises after work, but also for sucking in dust during sawing, planing or sanding.

    All models of vacuum cleaners produced by the company support both dry and wet cleaning modes, as well as the function of sucking liquids. All products offered by the company are equipped with a filter cleaning function, which makes it possible to use them for cleaning in rooms with a high degree of pollution (for example, boiler rooms). All Stihl vacuum cleaners have a purge function, and are also equipped with a special nozzle for cleaning in crevices.

    Models

    As of the current year, the German concern offers such basic models of vacuum cleaners.

    • SE 62 - a semi-professional model designed for use in everyday life, cleaning the local area, as well as for work on small construction sites, workshops and workshops. The electrical power consumption of the device is 3.6 kW, while the suction power is up to 1.4 kW, and the productivity is up to 3600 liters of air per minute. The hose length for this model is 2.5 m, and the weight of this unit is 7.5 kg. The volume of the dust container, which is made of non-woven materials, is 20 liters.
    • SE 62 E - this option differs from the previous one by the presence of a connector for connecting an electric tool. In this case, the vacuum cleaner automatically turns on when you turn on the equipment connected to it. The length of the hose for this model is increased to 3.5 m, the weight is up to 8 kg, and the rest of the characteristics correspond to the Stihl SE 62 model.
    • SE 122 - professional model, equipped with guide rollers, multi-stage filter, soft start system and engine speed control.With the same power consumption as in previous models, the suction power of this version is increased to 1.5 kW, and the capacity is up to 3700 l / min. The volume of the tank has been increased to 30 liters, and the weight of the device is 12 kg. The kit additionally includes a nozzle for cleaning and mopping. These characteristics allow this vacuum cleaner to be used for cleaning medium-sized industrial premises.
    • SE 122 E - this option differs from the previous one by the presence of a connector for a power tool, which allows it to be used not only for cleaning, but also when performing work on processing materials.
    • SE 133 ME - this vacuum cleaner meets all the requirements for equipment for cleaning dust class "M" (dust of medium hazard, for example, copper, iron, nickel, aluminum). It can be used for cleaning the premises of nuclear power plants.

    Selection Tips

    Despite the fact that most consumers intuitively evaluate vacuum cleaners by their power consumption, another parameter is much more important for the quality and speed of cleaning - the power of air suction. When choosing a vacuum cleaner for construction or industry, it is best to focus on the model with the highest suction power. But for use in everyday life, especially in apartments with hard floor coverings (laminate, parquet, linoleum) without carpets, models with a suction power of about 300 watts will be quite enough.

    If you plan to use the device not only for cleaning a construction site or workshop, but also for collecting chips and dust, you should definitely purchase models with a connector for their connection (from Stihl they are marked with the letter E).

    When choosing, it is worth considering not only the basic characteristics of the model, but also the supplied accessories. If you want to use the unit not only for cleaning dust, but also for washing windows, cleaning upholstered furniture and other tasks, then you should make sure that the kit includes the appropriate attachments.

    At the same time, it is worth paying attention to the fact that the equipment of the same model intended for export to different countries may differ significantly, therefore it is best to find out everything from the seller in advance.

    Reviews

    Most owners of Stihl industrial cleaning equipment in their reviews note its excellent quality and reliability. Due to the well-thought-out cooling system, the equipment does not overheat even during prolonged work without pauses. Also, the main advantages are the compactness of this technique with a relatively high suction power. Many owners consider a sufficient length of a network cable (about 10-15 m) and a hose (from 3 m) as an additional plus, which allows cleaning rooms with a large area and high ceilings.

      The main disadvantages of the SE 62 and SE 62 E models are considered by most of their owners to be a small filter size and insufficient dust collector volume. This problem is not typical for other models of the company, but they, in turn, are distinguished by their large dimensions and weight. The opinions of the owners of vacuum cleaners of the German concern about the diameter of the supplied hoses, which is higher than that of analogues, were divided. Some people consider this an advantage, because cleaning is faster, and the hose is less likely to clog. Others note that the vacuum cleaner sometimes draws in not only garbage, but also the necessary things.

      An overview of the STIHL SE 62 E vacuum cleaner is presented in the following video.
