Metabo vacuum cleaners are well known to domestic consumers and are widely used in industry, construction and everyday life. The high popularity of the models is due to the excellent German quality and versatility of the devices.

Peculiarities

The Metabo company is one of the oldest enterprises in Germany, the history of which dates back to 1924. Initially, the plant specialized in the production of woodworking equipment, but over time, it expanded the range of manufactured goods and started producing household vacuum cleaners. Today, the company's products are presented on the market in more than 100 countries around the world, and are in high demand everywhere.

The range of Metabo vacuum cleaners is very wide. It contains samples for both dry and wet cleaning of premises, corresponding to the three classes of protection against dust according to the EU standard. So, class L models are able to clean the surface of gypsum, lime, fertilizers, chalk, toothpaste, mica, clay and household dust. More advanced M-class samples easily cope with concrete and cement dust, wood chips and sawdust. And finally, especially powerful H-class units are designed to work with highly hazardous substances such as mold, glass wool and explosive substances.

In addition to functionality and high performance, Metabo vacuum cleaners are extremely comfortable to use and completely safe. All devices are equipped with an emergency shutdown function that instantly stops the engine in the event of any abnormal situations. Moreover, the models are distinguished by a well thought-out design and ergonomic design, which implies a convenient arrangement of pipes and attachments during storage, and contributes to increased comfort when using the devices.

An equally important feature of Metabo vacuum cleaners is their ability to operate synchronously with a power tool that generates debris during use. It looks like this: a grinder, perforator or drill is connected to a power outlet, which is located on the body of the vacuum cleaner, and at the same time they start working. In this case, the suction of dust, concrete chips or sawdust occurs immediately as soon as they are formed. For this, special exhaust hoods are used, through which an effective collection of construction waste takes place. Further, the debris through the hose system goes into the storage tank of the vacuum cleaner and is deposited there.

Advantages and disadvantages

Metabo vacuum cleaners are in high demand among Russian users and have a number of indisputable advantages that distinguish them favorably from models of other manufacturers.

  • The volume of the dust collector of almost all German units is quite large, and even for low-power household samples it is 20 liters or more. This allows large spaces to be cleaned of dust and debris without having to frequently empty the drive.
  • For the manufacture of dust collectors, stainless steel and impact-resistant plastic are used. This gives the tanks high strength and the required rigidity. Moreover, the containers are rather light and, even when filled, do not make the construction of the vacuum cleaner particularly heavy.
  • The units are equipped with a separate cooling circuit that protects the engine from overheating and increases the life of the models.
  • All devices are equipped with a washable, reusable pleated filter that is highly durable and durable. The filter is equipped with a float valve that immediately interrupts the suction as soon as the tank is filled with dust. At the same moment, an automatic engine shutdown is triggered, which does not allow the motor to operate at high speeds and prevents it from overheating.
  • Almost all Metabo models, including powerful industrial designs, are characterized by low noise levels.
  • A large model range and a wide price range make it much easier to choose the right model and allow you to purchase a vacuum cleaner of any power and cost. So, the most budget model will cost 9,000 rubles, while for serious industrial units you will have to pay 55,000 rubles.
  • The body of the vacuum cleaners, made of high-strength materials, is not afraid of shock and mechanical stress.
  • The devices are equipped with swivel wheels, which allows you to easily move them to the desired location.

The disadvantages of Metabo vacuum cleaners include the high cost of industrial models and the need for frequent replacement of dust bags in bag samples.

Models and their technical characteristics

Metabo vacuum cleaners are classified according to two main criteria: garbage collection method and specialization. According to the first criterion, the models are divided into devices equipped with dust bags and bagless units. Bags, in turn, are subdivided into disposable paper and reusable fabric models, and come with the unit. The bagless vacuum cleaner is equipped with a sealed storage container, which allows it to be used for collecting liquid contaminants.

The principle of operation of such models is based on the action of centrifugal force and is as follows: the turbine draws in the debris and feeds it through a hose to the accumulator, where it is thrown to the walls of the tank and settles.

However, bagless models make too much noise. This is due to strong impacts of debris on the walls of the tank under the influence of centrifugal forces.

The second sign of the classification of Metabo vacuum cleaners is their purpose. According to this criterion, three types of devices are distinguished.

Industrial designs are produced in accordance with the requirements of L and M classes and are capable of working with concrete dust, metal chips, liquid masses and woodworking waste. The units handle large areas with ease and are often used in the construction industry. The instrument case is made of shock-resistant materials and reliably protects the engine and turbine from damage. Convenient fasteners are located on the sides of the case, which are easy to unfasten and provide quick access to the reservoir, and the presence of built-in compartments for nozzles allows them to be neatly stored.

One of the most popular industrial models is the Metabo ASA 25 L PC, designed for cleaning dry and wet waste in large areas. AThe unit is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 1250 W and has a plug socket on the body that allows you to connect an electric tool with a power of up to 2.6 kW. The weight of the device is 8.3 kg, the volume of the working tank where the removable bag is inserted is 25 liters, the vacuum is 210 MBar. The length of the suction hose reaches 3.5 m, the cost is 12,300 rubles.

Household units are designed for cleaning small rooms and are characterized by low-power motors and compact dimensions. The most famous model for home use is the Metabo AS 20 L, equipped with a 1200 W motor and a 20 l dust container. The capacity of the unit is 3,600 l / min, the vacuum is 200 MBar, and the weight is 5 kg. The length of the suction hose and cable is 1.75 and 5 m, respectively, the price is about 9 thousand rubles.

Universal models are the largest group and are represented by samples that can work both in industrial facilities and at home. A typical representative of this type is the Metabo ASA 32 L vacuum cleaner, equipped with a 1200 W motor and a collection tank with a capacity of 32 liters. The length of the suction hose is 3.2 m, and the length of the electric cable is 5 m. The weight of the unit is 7 kg, the price is about 10,000 rubles.

Battery models are represented by mobile autonomous devices equipped with batteries and capable of working for a long time without recharging. One such device is the Metabo AS 18 L PC model, which is equipped with an 18 V lithium-ion battery and a 7.5 liter storage tank. The productivity of the device is 2,100 l / min, the vacuum is 120 MBa.

Such devices are significantly inferior to network models in a number of working qualities, however, they allow cleaning in the field and on construction sites that are not connected to electricity. The weight of the unit together with the battery is 7.4 kg, the diameter of the suction hose is 27 mm, and the length is 3 m.

Selection Tips

When choosing a Metabo vacuum cleaner, you should carefully read the overview of the technical characteristics of the models and pay attention to a number of important parameters.

  • The power of the device is considered one of the most significant technical indicators and affects the performance and suction power. So, for work on construction sites, it is recommended to purchase serious samples with an engine with a power of at least 1.4 kW, while for home use you can limit yourself to a less powerful model.
  • The volume of the working tank is also an important operating parameter and affects the duration of the continuous operation of the device. For cleaning large spaces, it is recommended to purchase models with tanks with a volume of 50 liters, while an unit with a tank of 20 liters or less is suitable for working in an apartment.
  • The packaging and availability of additional features are also important. The set with the device must include a pile brush, a crevice pad and a device for collecting liquid contaminants. If the unit will be operated in a woodworking industry or in the repair and construction industry, then it is advisable to purchase a device that can synchronously work with most electrical appliances and immediately remove the garbage formed during their operation.

How to use?

When using Metabo vacuum cleaners, certain rules must be observed:

  • it is forbidden to keep the device under load for more than 2 hours in a row;
  • cleaning of filters and washing of storage tanks should be carried out at least once a month;
  • it is not recommended to use the device at low voltage of the network, as well as during its surges;
  • using household models for cleaning construction sites and industrial premises is prohibited;
