How to setup?
Correct setup is required for the player to last much longer. This will require a diagram that comes with any turntable. First, you need to set it, and then set the optimal level for the selected model.
The disc on which the plates are located must be placed horizontally. A regular bubble level is suitable for this. It is very easy to adjust it, focusing on the feet of the turntable.
After that need to tune the head pickup, because how it is placed will depend not only on the area, but also on the angle of its contact with the vinyl track. You can position the needle using a ruler. or a professional protractor.
There should be two special fastening screws on its head. With their help, you can adjust the level of the needle stick out. With a slight loosening of them, you can move the carriage and set the corner at the level of 5 centimeters. After that, the screws must be carefully fixed.
The next step is to set the azimuth of the cartridge. It is enough to take a mirror and put it on the turntable disc. Then you need to bring the tonearm in and lower the cartridge to the mirror located on the disc. When properly positioned, the head should lie perpendicular.
One of the most important components of the player is the tonearm. It is designed to hold the pickup above the disc, as well as to smoothly move the head itself while sounds are being played. From that how correctly the tonearm adjustment will be done depends entirely on the final sound of the melody.
For customization, you must initially print the template. Wherein the test line should be 18 centimeters... The black dot drawn on it is needed to install it on the spindle of this device. When it is put on, you can proceed with the setup itself.
The needle must be installed in the center of the intersection of the lines. It should be parallel to the grid, first you need to check everything in the far region of the lattice, and then in the near region of the lattice.
If the needle is not parallel, you can adjust it using the same screws that are located on the cartridge.
Another important point is adjusting the tracking force of the tonearm. To do this, set the anti-skate to the "0" parameter. Next, you need to lower the tonearm, and then with the help of weights, you need to gradually adjust it. Position must be free, that is, the cartridge should be parallel to the deck of the player, while neither rising nor falling down.
The next step is to install a special counterweight system, or, in other words, anti-skating. With its help, you can prevent free movement of the cartridge.
The anti-skating value should be equal to the downforce.
To make a finer setting, you need to use a laser disc... To do this, you need to install it, then start the player itself. After that, the tonearm must be lowered with the cartridge onto the disc. Adjustments can be made by turning the anti-skating knob.
To summarize, we can say that Arcturus turntables have enjoyed immense popularity in the last century. Now they are also in trend, but already as a retro technique. Therefore, you shouldn't ignore such stylish and practical turntables.
