Although NEC is not one of the absolute leaders in the electronic market, it is well known to a huge number of people. It supplies a wide variety of devices, including projectors for various purposes. Therefore, it is necessary to give an overview of the model range of this technique and evaluate its main advantages.

Peculiarities

When characterizing NEC projectors, it is worth considering the feedback that most people have on them. All consumers appreciate design such devices. Price NEC technology is relatively small, and work resource projection lamps, on the other hand, are enlarged. They can show an excellent picture even during daylight hours. Some reviews say that the projectors of this brand work "like a clock" even with daily use for several hours.

Color rendering even the models of the budget class raises no objections. And here noise rating when working is very different. Most likely, this is due to the peculiarities of the conditions of use. It should be noted that a number of devices does not have HDMI.

Using traditional VGA instead is not very convenient.

Overall, NEC is one of the leading players in the projection and visualization sector. Due to the variety of assortment and flexible pricing policy, you can choose the optimal solution for yourself. In any case, it will demonstrate a truly Japanese quality. Consumers will be able to implement even extremely complex installation projects. And just in this segment NEC has been able to offer a number of original technologies.

Model overview

A good example from this manufacturer is deservedly called a laser projector. PE455WL... During its creation, elements of the LCD format were used. Main technical properties:

  • brightness - up to 4500 lumens;

  • contrast ratio - 500,000 to 1;

  • the total operating time of the lamp is 20 thousand hours;

  • net weight - 9.7 kg;

  • declared picture resolution - 1280x800.

The manufacturer also claims that the device makes less noise during operation than a well-tuned wristwatch. By creating the PE line, the designers have significantly improved the MultiPresenter function. Thanks to it, you can, without resorting to additional settings, conduct presentations wirelessly on 16 screens simultaneously. The incoming signal will be processed successfully, even if it has a 4K resolution and a frame rate of 30 Hz. Since the laser and liquid crystal units are completely isolated from the external environment, there are no filters, and you do not need to change them.

A decent alternative could be PE455UL. Its brightness and contrast indicators are the same as those of the previous model. But the picture resolution is much higher - 1920x1200 pixels. Other technical properties are as follows:

  • the aspect ratio of the picture is 16 to 10;

  • projection ratio - from 1.23 to 2: 1;

  • manual focus adjustment;

  • support for HDMI, HDCP;

  • 1 RS-232;

  • power supply with voltage from 100 to 240 V, frequency 50 or 60 Hz.

If you are looking for a professional grade NEC desktop projector then consider ME402X. It is built in the same way on the basis of the LCD. With a brightness of 4000 lumens, a contrast ratio of at least 16000 to 1 is provided. The lamps last at least 10 thousand hours, and the total weight of the projector is 3.2 kg. The optical resolution reaches 1024x768 pixels.

NEC Model NP-V302WG has long been discontinued, but other versions of the NP series continue to be produced. But the P554W model video projector deserves no less attention. This is a professional model with a brightness of 5500 lumens.With a mass of 4.7 kg, the product is equipped with lamps that serve 8000 hours. The contrast reaches 20,000 to 1.

Models in the PX series can be equipped with user-selected short throw lenses. The same NEC company supplies them. Almost any version can also be classified as multimedia equipment. A good example of such a device is PX1005QL. Main technical characteristics:

  • weight - 29 kg;

  • contrast - 10,000 to 1;

  • brightness at the level of 10,000 lumens;

  • full-fledged pixel-free perception by viewers;

  • the presence of picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes;

  • aspect ratio - 16 by 9;

  • mechanical lens adjustment;

  • supported resolutions - from 720x60 to 4096x2160 pixels.

Instructions for use

The official instruction for NEC projectors states that

  1. They must not be placed on a table with an incline of over 5 degrees.
  2. It is imperative to provide full ventilation. around the projector equipment.
  3. It is not recommended to touch it during operation.
  4. If water gets on the remote control, it is immediately wiped dry.
  5. It is necessary to protect the control device from extreme heat or hypothermia; you cannot disassemble the batteries and the remote control itself.
  6. NEC technology is very carefully turned on. Plugs should be inserted as deeply as possible, but without excessive force, into the sockets.
  7. A secure connection is indicated by the power indicator (it normally glows with a solid red light). When the source is turned on, the projector will automatically detect it.

Switching between several simultaneously connected signal sources is made by pressing the Source button.

Flashing red indicator indicates overheating of the projector. Then you need to turn it off immediately. The height of the displayed image is adjusted by adjusting the legs of the device. After setting the required position, they are fixed using a special button.

You can zoom in and out using a special lever.

OSD control with the remote is pretty close to TV controls. If the menu is no longer needed, it is simply left alone - after 30 seconds it will close by itself. It is useful to set the picture mode:

  • video - for showing the main part of television broadcasts;

  • movie - for using a projector in a home theater;

  • bright - the maximum brightness of the picture;

  • presentation - for connecting to a computer or laptop;

  • whiteboard - optimal color rendition for broadcasting to a school or office board;

  • special - strictly individual settings, if the standard options do not suit.
