The necessary information is stored in the memory of the built-in chip, and when the user installs a new cartridge, the recorded data is read by the printer. After simple steps, the interface displays information about the percentage of ink refills and other details.

Some models of cartridges do not have a microchip. Therefore, the Canon printer cannot collect the required information and update the information. The software of the peripheral device is unable to count the data even if new ink is charged, that is, the level is 100%, and the machine locks up the functions.

To reset the cartridge, you can use one of the following methods:

• reset of the counter readings;
• blocking the necessary contacts;
• using the programmer.

• glue the bottom row of contacts;
• repeat steps 2 and 3;
• remove the tape;
• insert back.
