Having installed a new dishwasher, everyone wants to test it as soon as possible, without thinking about what kind of dishes can be washed in it, and what is not recommended or, in general, is strictly prohibited. In order not to spoil the dishes, as well as not to harm the dishwasher, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the types of utensils for which washing in the machine is contraindicated. In addition, you should study the special symbols indicating how to properly wash a particular type of dish.

The dishwasher makes life easier. However, many incidents arise during operation, most of which are associated with the fact that the user does not know whether all types of dishes are subject to automatic washing. As a rule, if the dishes can be washed in the dishwasher, then a special sign will be displayed on it. Manufacturers from different countries use their own designations that are similar to each other. The most common conventions are as follows:

• two identical plates in a dishwasher container;

• three plates in a row with water drops;

• two plates of different sizes under running water;

• a set of dishes located in the bunker.

In general, all utensils are divided into three groups:

• can be washed in a dishwasher in any mode;

• conditionally subject to washing;

• prohibited for immersion in the bunker.

Now almost all types of utensils are marked. However, things are much more complicated with dishes that were made 20-30 years ago, when the dishwasher was just a dream, and there was no need to apply any icons. In this case, it is enough to understand from which raw material the product is made. Below is a list of materials that will perfectly tolerate the dishwasher cycle.

• Strained glass. Any tempered glass cookware is dishwasher-safe. These can be glasses, various salad bowls, baking dishes, and more.

• Porcelain. Any porcelain tableware is allowed to be washed in the dishwasher.

• Ceramics. Any ceramic items can be washed in the machine. The exception is products with a gold pattern or borders, which can simply disappear partially or completely.

• Heat-resistant plastic. These can be food trays or sandwich makers, microwave dishes, bottles. The maximum permissible temperature must be indicated on the plastic dishes.

• Silicone. These are various silicone baking dishes for desserts, as well as tableware (spoons, scoops). You can also wash baby pacifiers, toys and pet accessories in the dishwasher.

• Stainless steel. These are pots, saucepans, cutlery and other accessories that are placed in the hopper.

Along with the materials that can be washed in the dishwasher, there are those that are best cleaned or washed by hand. These include tableware and accessories made of silver, wood, copper, aluminum, cast iron and Teflon. In addition, it is worth remembering that graters and knives can become dull during washing in the dishwasher. As for small household appliances (blender, juicer, thermos, kettle), some of its components can be washed in the dishwasher, for example, glass flasks, lids.

Children's plastic toys do not have a dishwasher badge, but this is not prohibited. In addition, rubber shoes previously cleaned of debris and sand, vegetables and fruits during the canning period, as well as caps and baseball caps are also dishwasher-safe. The main thing is to select the optimal modes and detergents, as well as to carry out preliminary cleaning from dirt.

It is necessary to study the markings on the dishes, since you can not only spoil the dishware or accessory, but also harm your own health, since there are types of materials that, under the influence of high temperatures or hot water, are capable of releasing substances harmful to humans.
