How to properly charge the speaker?
Every year more and more wireless gadgets are at the disposal of consumers. More and more often, you can find young people in their hands with a Bluetooth speaker. These devices appeared on sale 2-2.5 years ago, but now they are very popular.
Wireless speakers include a stylish design, minimal size, but powerful speakers and a large battery. All these characteristics turn the mini-gadget into a full-fledged music center. Unlike bulky wired technology, a wireless gadget does not restrict the listener's movement.
But no matter how long the wireless technology works offline, sooner or later the moment comes when the portable device needs to be charged. Charging the mini-speaker does not require removing the battery from under the case. The process itself is very simple and does not require special skills or additional training.
Charging rules
Wait until the battery is completely discharged before charging the battery for the first time. It is necessary to read the enclosed operating instructions. The charging process takes about 4 hours... The time may be slightly increased or decreased depending on different models.
The package of more common inexpensive speakers, in addition to the device itself, includes a USB cable for charging it. Therefore, when choosing such a model, you will need to additionally purchase a power supply with a resistance suitable for a particular type of device. Usually, information about the amperage required to recharge a gadget is indicated on its packaging.
But if the owner of the speaker has a smartphone or tablet, the purchase of a separate power supply unit can be avoided. The block from the phone in most cases is also suitable for a wireless speaker.
The set of Bluetooth speakers of famous American and European manufacturers, which have a high price, already includes a power supply. It does not need to be purchased separately.
Despite different prices or manufacturers, all mini speakers can be charged in two ways.
From the outlet
To charge the speaker from the outlet, you will need a cord and a power supply. To start the process, you need to perform a number of actions.
- Turn off the column.
- Find a micro-USB socket on its body. It is located on the back of the device and is most often hidden under a silicone cap.
- Remove the plug by picking it up with a fingernail or a thin, but not sharp object.
- Insert one end of the wire with a micro-connector into the socket on the speaker case. And insert the other end with a standard USB connector into the power supply.
- Connect the power supply to the mains.
- Wait until the battery is fully charged.
- Unplug the unit from the socket.
- Remove the wire from the speaker socket. Close the silicone plug.
You can use the device immediately after the end of the charging process.
From another device
There are situations when there was no outlet or power supply at hand. In this case, you can replenish the battery charge from a running computer, laptop, or an external power source. This requires a USB cable and a clear sequence of actions.
- Turn off the mini speaker.
- Turn on your laptop or computer.
- Connect these devices with a USB cable. Connect the micro-connector to the speaker, and the standard connector to the computer.
- Wait until charging is complete.
- Disconnect the wire sequentially, first from the computer, then from the speaker.
You can use the column with this charging method immediately after disconnecting it from the power source.
You can charge the speaker directly from an external battery without even turning it off.
This method is very convenient on the road, travel, transport, or when the battery level is low and playback cannot be interrupted.
How do you know if the speaker is charged?
The time required to fully charge the battery is indicated in the instructions for its use. And in most models it is 4 hours. Unlike gadgets that have a screen or touch panel that displays information about the battery status, you can track the charge level on the column using a special indicator.
The charge level indicator is 3-4 small round holes on the speaker case. They are usually highlighted in blue. The fewer these holes are lit, the lower the charge level. One blinking light of the indicator indicates the extremely low level of charge and that the device will soon be turned off.
If all the dots are bright and not blinking, then the column is 100% charged.
How much time is left until the end of charging can be judged by the number of indicator lights that light up. The more there are, the less time is left until the end of the process.
Long-term operation of a portable speaker directly depends on the battery life. The service life can be extended if it is properly charged.
For the full operation of the battery, it is necessary to fulfill some requirements:
- do not disconnect the device from the network before the time allotted for full charging;
- do not use a power supply with a current strength different from the current strength of the device itself;
- do not use a damaged USB cable;
- prevent the appearance of bends, creases, bare areas on the cable;
- Always close the charging compartment cover tightly to avoid foreign objects entering it.
By adhering to the recommendations, you can easily charge the wireless speaker in any convenient way. And focusing on the indicator, you can calculate the approximate time until the end of the device and put it on charge in time.
