In 1976, Japanese scientists developed a new type of synthetic fiber - velsoft. It is also called microfiber. These are ultra-thin fibers with a diameter of 0.06 mm. The raw material is polyester, which is stratified into thinner threads (from 8 to 25 micron threads from each initial). Human hair is 100 times thicker than this fiber; cotton, silk, wool - tenfold.

Microfibres connected in a bundle form a large number of cavities that are filled with air. This unusual structure allows microfiber to have unique properties. In terms of chemical composition, it is polyamide with a density of 350 g per square meter. When examining the label, you will see the inscription "100% Polyester".

There are many fabrics similar to microfiber. Externally, velsoft is similar to thick short-haired velor. However, it is softer, much more pleasant to the touch. Velor is made from natural cotton or artificial fibers. Not only home, but also outerwear, festive clothes are sewn from it.

Velsoft is classified by:

1. pile height (blankets with a minimum height - ultrasoft);
2. the density of the pile;
3. degree of softness;
4. the number of working sides (one- or two-sided);
5. the type of decoration and texture of fur (blankets with imitation under the skin of an animal are popular).

According to the color variety, microfiber is:

• monochromatic: fabric can be either bright colors or pastel colors, but without patterns and ornaments;
• printed: fabric with a pattern, ornament, photograph;
• large-patterned: These are large patterns all over the blanket.

This type of polyester is distinguished by the following properties, which allow us to speak of advantages over other fabrics:

• Antibacterial - being a synthetic material, it is not of interest for moth larvae and bacteriological fungi. Your blanket does not have to be constantly ventilated.

• Security - the production of the fabric complies with the international standards for testing textile products Eco Tex, it is recognized as suitable for use as home textiles and clothing. Manufacturers use safe and stable dyes, there are no foreign odors.

• Pile is not prone to pilling, which means that you will be able to use your cover on a sofa or bed for a very long time.

• Softness, tenderness, lightness, since during production, each microfilament was processed with a special high-tech composition, and the cavities between them were filled with air, making the blanket bulky.

5. If the lint has creased, hold it over the steam.
