Spare parts for gas stoves: features and types
Despite the wide variety of models of kitchen appliances, many people prefer the classic gas stove, knowing that it is durable, works stably, and is easy to use. The device of a modern gas stove has become much more complicated than the assembly of similar Soviet-era household appliances. However, it is quite possible to make simple repairs and replace parts with your own hands if you know the rules for handling gas and the structure of a household appliance.
Peculiarities
When buying and self-selection of spare parts, it is necessary to take into account the features of individual models of gas stoves. A metal plate is usually attached to the back of the product, on which the GOST of the device is indicated.
Based on the name of the regulation, you can find on the Internet the possibilities of this cooker.
Below is the indicator of the combustion temperature of the fuel, the value of the gas pressure. You will need them if you need to select new nozzles for the burners. In modern stoves, all this information is available in the product passport.
When buying nozzles for the stove, check for spare parts. Before going to the store for the correct selection of parts, you can take pictures of old parts or take them with you. Take into account the position, purpose of the burners of your device, their power. Gas leakage may occur if the nozzle of the product is installed crookedly. If you are in doubt whether everything was picked up and assembled correctly, call specialists. This will help avoid accidents. Complete combustion of gas during the operation of the stove occurs only when all the parts of the burner (burners) are in good order, otherwise there is a high probability of poisoning people in the room.
Gas stove device
The device and equipment of gas stoves of different models and manufacturers has a standard structure, with the exception of certain parts and additions. All parts belong to three main systems:
- gas: includes pipelines, taps, regulators, burners, gas control system, burners, splitters;
- electrical: temperature sensors, auto ignition, timers, grill, lighting;
- supporting structure: includes the body, the working surface of the product.
Several basic structural elements stand out.
- Product body. Usually made of stainless or enamelled steel, it has increased rigidity.
- Working surface. The upper part of the stove, which has protection against corrosion and rust, grates for setting the dishes on the fire.
- Hotplates - can be made of different materials, have different designs and sizes.
- Oven. Used for heat treatment of food. In conventional devices it works on gas, in combined ones - on electricity.
- Automatic ignition system. Function that allows you to safely turn on a hotplate. The gas is ignited by an electric candle.
- Distribution gas pipeline, burners, shut-off valves.
- Electronics. Installed on all new models, includes timers, temperature sensors, thermostats. Some have a software module that displays the values of the indicators on a special display powered by electricity.
- Gas control system. Automatically shuts off the flow of fuel if there is not enough fuel to maintain the flame.
Variety of spare parts
The huge number of models of gas stoves leads to a wide variety of components. It happens that service centers do not have parts suitable for your equipment. Even experienced craftsmen with skills and experience do not know where to get them, so you have to deal with the selection of spare parts yourself, order on the Internet.
Oven thermometer
The principle of operation of the device that measures the temperature in the oven is simple. The device is a plate fused from two metals. When heated, the element deforms, sets in motion an arrow showing degrees. There are two types of the device:
- digital - determines the temperature in the oven most accurately;
- mechanical timer - easier to operate, durable, but has a large measurement error.
Thermometers are mounted on glass, wall or grate. Easy to remove, wash, replace. The price of such a device for gas stoves is relatively low. There are simple rules for choosing a quality thermometer:
- buy from trusted suppliers who value their reputation;
- take thermometers with a large scale value, which show the temperature when the oven is heated up strongly;
- do not choose small devices: it will be difficult to see the numbers behind the glass;
- do not take the cheapest option: it can be made of low-quality materials and will break down quickly.
Arms and legs
Often, when moving, repairing, moving household appliances, the original legs of the product can be lost. There are plastic and rubber options for the accessory on sale. For replacement, you need to measure the diameter and length of the thread of the screws of the legs. For some models, adjustable legs are provided, which allow you to adjust the height of the stove flush with the kitchen surface.
Sometimes, over time, the decorative handles of the stove get loose and deteriorate, the inscriptions are erased, the stock flies out, a crack may go along the body. Due to melting, aging, careless use, it happens that adjustment is impossible, you have to purchase new handles. Such fittings are popular, they are available for sale in online stores and service centers for repair.
The handles are selected in accordance with the model, the manufacturer of the plate.
Lattice
Gas stoves are usually equipped with two types of grates:
- cast iron;
- steel or enameled.
These types of lattice have certain properties. The enamel lattice is lighter than cast iron, smooth and shiny. But the service life of a cast iron product is much longer, it is more resistant to constant exposure to high temperatures. The enamel lattice deteriorates over time, changes color and external parameters, takes on an untidy appearance. It is worth remembering that cast iron is a brittle metal. The product may break if dropped or bumped. Replacing a part is not difficult, and is easily done by hand. The grill, rubber supports for it, the necessary crosspiece will be selected by the specialists of service shops, taking into account the plate model.
Glass
It happens that glass breaks in the oven. The reason may be mechanical damage, severe temperature changes or aging of the product. A common scratch sometimes causes large cracks in the glass during heating. To buy or order glass for the oven door, do not rush to throw away the fragments of the old one. And also save all the plastic, metal facade details of the structure, since sometimes it is not possible to find similar ones on old models. Measure the thickness: the factory can temper ordinary glass and adjust it to the desired size. Pay attention to the maximum heat that the product must withstand. The indicator can be found in the gas stove passport. It is better to choose glass with a reserve of exposure to hot temperatures. It is much better and more convenient to purchase original glass from the manufacturer for your model.
Usually the door is equipped with 2 or 3 glass panes. It is unsafe to use the oven without the complete set. The appliance will not work efficiently as most of the heat will go away. And you can also burn yourself on the hot door. If you decide to do the replacement yourself, be careful when buying glue or sealant. It must withstand temperatures up to 300º and be food compatible.
Burners
The burner is the main element of the stove. It contains the injector, which is responsible for the flow of fuel. The upper part of the burner is a diffuser that ensures an even flow of flame. The task of a gas burner is to burn fuel efficiently. When cleaning the stove, the splitter and splitter covers must be removed, however, debris and dirt should not get into the injector tube. Burners supply gas to the burners. Perforations of products differ in diameter. The inner one is small and the outer one at the top of the nozzle is larger.
Modern burners can have multiple rows of perforations for more heat.
Union
To connect the fuel cylinder to the stove, you will need a reducer that creates an outlet pressure of 30 mbar, a fitting, seals and gaskets, and a gas hose. Usually the fitting is included with the device. You cannot connect without it. The procedure is safe and consists of several steps:
- attach the fitting to the gas stove inlet using a gasket, suitable glue or fum tape;
- screw the reducer to the cylinder, again reinforcing the connection with a gasket;
- then connect the reducer and the fitting with a special hose.
Seals and gaskets
To choose the right seal for your oven, it is important to consider some of the features of these products:
- it is imperative to comply with the operating standards of the stove: if you systematically violate the manufacturer's recommendations, even branded seals or rubber bands will not last long;
- be sure to pay attention to the moisture-repellent properties of the product;
- it is better that the elastic is made of quality material with a high level of heat resistance.
When operating the stove, the maximum temperature regime at which it is allowed to use the equipment should be taken into account. If this requirement is met, the seal will not burst. The elastic must be designed for a high load, so it is important to be interested in what material it is made of.
The composition of the product must withstand high temperatures, otherwise the seal may deform during the use of the plate.
Injectors
Modern stoves operate on natural fuel or gas from a cylinder. The gas from these two sources has a different composition and pressure when it enters the pipeline, which causes a difference in the combustion of the gas-air mixture. To eliminate soot, to even out the flame, nozzles are used, which are also called nozzles or jets. These parts are of two types:
- for natural gas - with a hole with a larger diameter, shorter in length;
- for liquefied fuels - bolts with long threads.
Choice of components
The pipe leading the gas to the stove is always equipped with a separate valve. In the event of a breakdown, a complete replacement of the pipe valve is sometimes required. They are cork and ball. The latter is considered more reliable. Experts recommend purchasing durable brass taps from Italian, German or Polish manufacturers.
When choosing accessories for a gas stove, take into account the model of your device, choose reliable stores that offer high-quality spare parts. There are universal parts that fit many cookers, such as a temperature sensor. However, some elements will have to be chosen more carefully, taking into account the diameters, threads, manufacturer: gas supply pipe, handles, burners. When one element from the set has broken, for example, one jet out of four or a handle, it is better to buy a stasis set, because the rest of the parts can also malfunction soon.
Appreciate your equipment, use it in accordance with the instructions, clean and lubricate the necessary parts, and then you will have to buy components less often and spend money on calling the master.
