Today, about five thousand varieties of this plant have been registered, one of which is Garden Treasure. Consider the description of this peony and the rules for planting and caring for it.

Description

Variety "Garden Treasure" refers to Ito-hybrids obtained by crossing herbaceous and tree-like peonies. These hybrids have many advantages. The richness and variety of the palette is amazing, there are varieties of pink, white, purple, canary, coral and other shades. Some varieties combine several tones at once. Another advantage of hybrid plants is long flowering and a large number of buds located on one bush.

Garden treasure peonies, which in English means “garden treasure”, have won a large number of awards and prizes. The canary tone, thickening towards the middle of the bud, looks unusually gentle. The height of the stems can reach 120 centimeters, the width of the bushes sometimes reaches one and a half meters, these facts must be remembered when planting.

If you manage to purchase several bushes of this variety at once, during flowering your garden will turn into a real paradise. On each plant, about forty buds will open at the same time and fill the area with aroma and beauty.

At the same time, "Garden Treasure" is resistant to adverse conditions and can withstand frosts down to -40 degrees.

Growing

The growing process is divided into several stages.

Site selection

First of all, when planting peonies, you must correctly choose a site. How quickly the bushes will grow and what they will be depends on the correct choice. Garden Treasure needs sunlight, so the growing area must be open.

Trees with a wide crown, dense shrubs and buildings should be as far away as possible, as they can disrupt air circulation and shade the area... In this case, the plants will grow, but they will not bloom.

Pay attention to the water table. In case of their close standing, you will have to abandon planting "Garden Treasure" in this place, since the root system will begin to rot and the plant will die, and your strength will be wasted.

Soil preparation

Peonies should only be planted in fertile or well-fertilized soil. The splendor of flowers, their number and aroma, which will fill the site, depend on the quality of the soil. The most favorable soil for these plants will be cultivated soil with weak acidity. If there is a lot of sand in the ground, add one and a half buckets of clay, if the soil, on the contrary, is slightly clayey, dilute it with sand.

Sour soil can be improved with lime by adding 200-400 grams per bush.

Landing

Plants should be planted in the fall. At the beginning of August, you need to start the process of preparing the site. In order for peonies to grow well, it is recommended to plant them in small pits with fertilizers, the size of which should be approximately 60 * 60 * 60 centimeters. They are filled 2/3 with top dressing, for this peat, humus and sand are mixed. You can supplement the mixture with a liter can of wood ash, which will also enrich the soil.

Plants should be planted at a depth of 4-6 centimeters from the surface.Peonies bloom in the second year after planting.

If there are no buds during this period, you should not worry, pay attention to the number of stems, there should be more of them - this is the main thing. This means that Garden Treasure will delight you with its beauty next year.

Care

Water the flowers with plenty of water immediately after planting. Watering should be carried out regularly at the rate of 2.5 buckets of water per bush.

Periodically loosen the ground and treat the bushes with solutions against pests. It is important to feed the plant and mulch the ground from time to time.

For the first two years after planting, it is important to cover the bush in winter. To do this, you need to cut off the stems, leaving a couple of centimeters above the buds, and cover with compost or a layer of peat. With proper care, peonies will delight their owners with flowering every year.
