White petunias: popular varieties
White petunias are popular with gardeners because they make the flower garden incredibly beautiful. With frequent planting, petunia completely fills the flower bed, covering it with a thick flowery carpet.
Characteristic
The plant pleases with its buds throughout the summer. To get a dense carpet, you need to sow the soil with seeds in early spring.
Depending on the variety, white petunia can produce flowers with diameters ranging from 2.5 cm to 7.5 cm. Some plants do not show exclusively snow-white buds, but a mixed color with a red or pink tint, which gives them more charm.
The foliage is deep, pale green in color, with a hairy and sticky texture.
It perfectly complements the white color of large buds, filling in the free space.

There are several varieties that are most in demand among breeders.
- "Dreams White"... Flowers of this variety bloom every 5 days, retaining their color all summer. The bush turns out to be compact, but the flowers are large, for which petunia is valued.
- "Horizon White"... The bush can reach a height of up to 30 cm, in diameter up to 35 cm. Petunia shows excellent shape, flowers do not fall from rain or wind. The plant is sown in late winter, early spring, and shoots appear in a week or two.
- Falcon White... A large-flowered plant, the diameter of the buds of which reaches 8 cm after blooming. Perfectly adapts to weather conditions, it can reach a height of 25 cm. This variety can be sown not only in a flower bed, but also in pots.
- "Duo red and white"... Terry red-white variety with abundant flowering. It is a hybrid that can grow up to 30 cm in height. Flowers delight in appearance and light aroma until September. Differs in the presence of a corrugated edge at the flower petals.
- "Double White"... Growers love the presented variety for its compactness, a large number of buds. The width of the petunia reaches 40 cm, it looks great as a decoration not only for the front garden, but also for the balcony, since it can grow in a wide container.
- "Blanket White"... Grows quickly, the buds are small.
- "Prism White". The plant reaches a height of 200 mm, the buds are quite large, and in diameter can be up to 100 mm. The buds are formed early, which is why the culture is attractive.
- Wonder White. This is a hybrid petunia, with a shoot length of about 1.5 m. The flower is up to 90 mm in diameter, the buds are formed on the bushes in large numbers.
- Origami White. During the budding period, she demonstrates a hat of flowers and foliage of an even, decorative shape.
- Ninya White. The lateral shoots of this petunia develop quickly, the bush can reach 500 mm in diameter, and there is no need to use growth stimulants.
- "White giant"... A hybrid that appeared on the market not so long ago. It grows compact, many buds appear on the bush, all the flowers are quite large.
- "Amore myo white". A cascading multifloral variety, it grows strongly, pleases with a snow-white blanket from spring to late autumn. The flowers are beautiful and have a delicate aroma.
- "Love"... The shrub can reach 300 mm in height, flowers appear from the beginning of summer and delight with their attractiveness and abundance until the beginning of autumn. Looks great in large clusters.
- Duo Rose and White. It is a perennial variety that is distinguished by its double flower and white-raspberry color. The shape is always neat, more square, maximum height 350 mm.
- "Tabl white". A variety that is very popular due to its large snow-white flowers.The buds last for a long time, for which plant breeders fell in love.
Care
Petunia care is very simple. Sowing seeds is necessary 6-10 weeks before the last frost. Better not to allow the bushes to intertwine. If necessary, you can thin out the flower bed.
Be sure to remove already faded petunia buds so that the plant can produce more flowers.
Choosing a landing site is one where there is enough bright light. Petunia loves open areas, regular watering, and needs a well-drained soil. The flower should not be allowed to be in swampy ground.
