All small children love to play in the sand, so in every courtyard of an apartment building or in a kindergarten area you can always find this simple device for children's games. But even at home, you can build a pretty decent sandbox, which will undoubtedly delight every child.

For those who live in a country house or often visit the country, it will not be difficult to build a sandbox for children. You can make such a structure in an apartment by placing it, for example, on a balcony.

Provided that the sandbox will be located in the courtyard of a private house, you need to come up with a good place for it and prepare it for a playground. You should think over the sketch in advance. Perhaps it will be not only a container with sand, but also seats, a cover, a protective awning. In most cases, a sandbox is a wooden structure. Of course, the wood needs to be treated, covered with a special compound to exclude rotting, and also to provide a smooth surface. To prevent foreign objects, leaves, dirt, large insects from getting into the container, you can provide it with a lid. It will also protect the sandbox from the encroachment of cats and dogs. • A very good idea to complete the sandbox with a box for storing toys. You can always find all the necessary items, and children are taught to order.

If this is a structure located directly in the apartment, then it must be a structure with a full bottom. It might just be a sheet of plywood. The sides are made of pre-treated and varnished wooden boards. For safety, the sides along the edge can be pasted over with a rubber coating.

If you have to make a sandbox with your own hands in the courtyard of a country house, then we act according to a certain plan.

• First you need to prepare a flat area, clean it of debris and grass, remove the top layer of earth.
• Then shallow trenches should be dug around the perimeter, since it is better to deepen the sides into the ground. Moreover, they must be well treated with anti-rot and mildew agents.
• The bottom of the future sandbox must be covered with dense material. It can be agrofibre, geotextile. If necessary, you can fill the bottom with cement or lay out tiles. This will prevent weeds from germinating or debris entering. The sand will always be clean.
• Then you can make the seats around the edges of the sandbox.
• To set up the simplest canopy, you can use a large parasol by attaching it to the middle of the sandbox. Only you need to fix it very securely. The canopy can also be located on four bases. Sticks need to be well driven into the ground, you can strengthen them with cement mortar. A waterproof fabric is placed at the top.
• Then you can already improvise and add various details.
• The container can be filled with river or sea sand, buy a filler at a hardware store. But at the same time you need to sift it, check if there are any sharp objects.
