Breeding history

This variety was obtained as a result of work carried out by a group of scientists of the agricultural firm "Gavrish" in 2011. The authors of the vegetable culture are breeders Redichkina T.A., Gavrish S.F. and Kapustina R.N.

The variety is included in the State Register of approved for use in the Russian Federation. Peppers can be grown in almost any climatic zone. The culture is planted both under film shelters, and in greenhouse structures, and on garden ridges.

Description of the variety

The red cube is a low-growing plant that grows up to 60-70 cm in height. The bush is characterized by semi-spreading branches, abundant thickening of dark green wrinkled leaves, a powerful central stem, drooping fruits and a female flowering type. On the bush, about 8-12 lined fruits are tied and ripen.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and fruits

The mid-season variety belongs to large-fruited varieties. On the bushes, vegetables ripening weighing 150-250 grams and 10-15 cm long. The shape of the fruits is leveled - cuboid. Ripe peppers are evenly covered with a bright red color, and at the stage of technical maturity they are dark green. The peel of the vegetable is thickened (8-9 mm), ideally smooth, glossy, with a slight ribbing. The structure of the pepper consists of 3-4 chambers with small seeds.

Ripe peppers, due to their dense and durable shell, perfectly tolerate transportation, and can also be stored in a cool place for a long time. Unripe vegetables also have good keeping quality.

Purpose and taste

Among the many congeners, Red Cube sweet pepper stands out for its excellent taste and fragrant aroma. The light scarlet flesh has a fleshy, dense, tender, slightly crunchy and very juicy structure without wateriness and pungency. The taste of the vegetable is dominated by light sweetness and a pronounced summer aroma.

The advantage of the pepper variety is the universal purpose of the fruit - peppers are eaten fresh, added to salads, soups, and also canned, pickled, baked, frozen, processed into ketchups, dressings, sauces.

Ripening terms

The red cube is a medium-ripening variety. From mass germination to the appearance of the first peppers on the bushes, it takes about 120 days. The fruits ripen quite amicably. You can taste the first peppers already in July. The fruiting period is slightly extended. As a rule, the mass ripening of vegetables occurs in August-September.

Yield

The variety is declared fruitful. If you provide the plant with good agricultural technology, then you can count on an excellent return - up to 4.7-5 kg ​​of fleshy peppers from 1 m2. Growing a vegetable in a greenhouse, you can get up to 8 kg / m2.

Landing scheme

When planting a plant, it is necessary to remember the planting density and respecting the distance between plantings. It is recommended to plant no more than 4 pepper bushes per 1 m2. The vegetable is planted according to the 40x60 cm scheme.

Growing and care

The culture is grown mainly by the seedling method. Strengthened bushes are planted in the greenhouse in mid-May, and in garden beds - in late spring - early summer. For planting outdoors (exclusively in the southern regions of the country), it is important that the soil warms up well and the temperature stabilizes.

The agricultural technology of vegetable crops consists of a chain of events - regular irrigation with warm or settled water (drip system), top dressing, observing the alternation of mineral and organic complexes (three times per season), loosening and weeding of the soil, which improves air / moisture permeability, the formation and tying of bushes, ventilation greenhouses, prevention of fungi and insect infestations.
