Panel from buttons in interior design
Any creative person knows that creating a work of art does not always require expensive materials and the study of complex creative techniques. For example, it is enough to rummage in our own bins and find there such familiar accessories as buttons, and then create an unusual panel out of them.
What is necessary?
In addition to buttons of different colors, the following tools and materials will come in handy:
- thick cardboard or canvas;
- additional decorative elements: bugles, beads, beads - they are needed to fill the free gaps between the buttons;
- hot glue (glue gun);
- a wooden frame for a panel on cardboard (it is not required for a panel on canvas);
- tweezers for holding buttons (cosmetic is suitable);
- file for cutting "legs" at buttons;
- toothpicks for distributing glue over the smallest particles of the decor;
If you are not going to glue the buttons, but to sew, then stock up on a needle and thread of suitable colors.
The preliminary preparation of materials for the creation of a panel includes the following stages:
- on one's own draw and cut a sketch future drawing or use a ready-made stencil (for example, taken from the Internet);
- thoroughly wash the buttons using a detergent (dishwashing gel is suitable) and dry them;
- put the stencil on cardboard / canvas, carefully trace it along the contour with a simple pencil.
Now you can get to work. But before gluing / sewing on the buttons, lay them out in the order that suits you. At this stage, you can still swap them, add or remove accessories that do not match in color or shape.
If everything suits you, take glue or thread with a needle and start attaching the buttons to the base. Use beads, beads and other small items to fill in the gaps between them.
For a three-dimensional picture, try gluing buttons one on top of the other, experimenting with shades and shapes.
Interesting ideas
To create a panel of buttons with your own hands, you need inspiration and ideas. The presence of the first one depends only on you, and we will show you the possible variants of the compositions.
Wood
Beginning creators are better off starting with it. You will need a base (canvas, cardboard), brown buttons for the trunk and branches, as well as different shades of green to create summer foliage or red / orange / yellow for an autumn tree.
Using a stencil or by hand, draw the outline of the tree onto the base. It can be a spreading oak or a beautiful birch - the choice is yours.
Glue the trunk with brown fittings, lay out the twigs with it. Then proceed to glue the leaves. Use buttons of different sizes and shades.
One of the variations of the wood panel is a sakura twig. To create it, you need buttons in brown, pink and white.
Contour the base with a long, horizontally directed branch. Fill it in with brown buttons. After that, start forming flowers from the white-pink range.
Heart
It will be not only an excellent home decoration, but also a wonderful gift for your loved one by February 14th.
Moreover, it is not at all necessary to make it a classic red color - buttons of a pastel scale will "cope" with the task just as well.
Animals, birds, fish, insects
This is where you can really dream up. For example, birds and fish are famous for their unusually vibrant colors and variety of shapes.The same can be said for insects.
Take a photo of any butterfly (or create your own, fantasy one) or birds as a sample - and you already have an idea.
All that remains is to select buttons of suitable sizes and colors.
Letter
The panel with the initial letter of the name or initials can be presented as a gift to young parents or newlyweds for a wedding.
How to place?
A panel made of buttons on canvas or cardboard can be hung on the wall or installed on a bedside table, chest of drawers, or a hinged shelf. It all depends on the size of the product, the base material used (for example, a canvas on a stretcher is a priori more stable than a sheet of cardboard, so there are more options for placing it), and, of course, on the wishes of the owner of the work and the subject of the image.
As for the latter, then:
- images of vegetables, fruits, butterflies, flowers can be placed in the kitchen, away from the stove and sink;
- a panel with funny animals just asks for a nursery;
- it is recommended to decorate the living room with a panel in the form of a tree;
- in the bedroom you can hang an image of a crescent moon, a heart.
