How to hang a TV on a drywall wall?

TV has long been considered a must in any home. It is even installed in the kitchen and sometimes in the bathroom. Where and how to attach it, everyone decides at his own discretion. Recently, it has become more and more popular to place it on the wall, as this method frees up space. This opportunity is fully provided by liquid crystal and plasma televisions. They do not weigh much and, thanks to their design, take up almost no space.

The difficulty lies in the fact that more and more often the walls are sheathed with plasterboard sheets, and they consist of a very fragile material and are unlikely to withstand the weight of this technique. But even in such a situation, there are ways that allow a person to fulfill their plans with their own hands, without outside help. You just need to adhere to some instructions and accuracy in work. Moreover, there are several options for attaching the device to the wall surface.

Mounting options:

• installation directly to the base is acceptable for small-sized devices with low weight;
• larger products can be attached if there is a sheathing frame jumper at the attachment point;
• installation of the required size of a shelf or niche. This option is used for TVs of any size and weight.

Placing the equipment on the wall has many advantages:

• the room takes on a neat, uncluttered look;
• frees up the area of ​​the room;
• it is not difficult to mount it yourself;
• allows more practical and functional use of space;
• all fixtures and materials are available and efficient.

Before starting work on installing television equipment on a partition made of fragile material without reinforcing the frame, it is important to take care of the availability of the necessary tools. It is imperative to have a drill to drill holes. A puncher is needed if it is necessary to drill a concrete wall to attach a bar or profile.

You will also need a screwdriver and dowels of the following types:

• "butterfly";
• "umbrella";
• Hartmut.

Such products are made specifically for hollow structures, they expand inside them, which is what fixation consists in. They are disposable. Repeated use loses the strength of the fastener and it may not support the weight. In some situations, there is a need to use anchors.

In the case of using embedded amplifiers, wooden blocks must be available. Parts should have a square cross section, and the sides should be 50 mm. Metal corners will also come in handy.

To fix the device on a drywall plane with your own hands, you will need:

• drill;
• drill;
• a screwdriver, if it is not there, then you will have to work with a screwdriver;
• pencil and level for marking;

Wooden parts of the structure need to be worked out with an antiseptic compositionto avoid the loss of important properties of wood.

If you follow these steps first, you can use any method of installing the hardware.

The easiest way is to hang a small-sized TV that is lightweight:

• gently, slightly tapping, drive into the pre-drilled holes of fasteners - dowels;
• with their help, fix the bar with brackets;
• install the hardware.

We will mention again that only flat, small-sized models can be installed this way, otherwise the drywall sheet will not withstand a large mass and will begin to collapse. This method is used to install fixed mounts that do not have rotary devices.

If the model is heavier, it is installed on brackets.

To mount in this way you will need:

• make holes in the drywall at the locations of the metal profile, then almost all the load will be transferred to the frame;
• carefully drive special fasteners into the holes made;
• fix the bracket.

If the device is heavy enough and you plan to install any additional equipment (amplifier, speakers, player, etc., you will need to make a shelf. In this case, you need to design external support stands.

To create them, you need to do the following:

• Determine what kind of support will be. Supporting posts can be made from timber bars, metal pipes, channels and similar materials. You also need to take into account the shapes that are suitable for the interior and withstand the required weight.
• Install the supports vertically relative to the wall, fix them securely on a plane so that they do not move.
• Screw drywall sheets onto the resulting frame.
• If necessary, additional shelves can be built into the frame.

The supports can be decorated in any way. They are often made in the form of a fireplace, hearth. The main thing is that they have a beautiful appearance and correspond to the general atmosphere of the room.

If the apparatus is equipped with a ray tube, then you can hang it by making an external bearing support, you can also use a cantilever bracket called a sleeve. This way you can achieve a juxtaposition of functionality and aesthetics. Designing will not be difficult, and the materials for their manufacture are readily available. For such a model, a niche is not used, because it must be made quite deep, which will take up space in vain.

Even in such a situation, it is strongly discouraged to use a structure with movable attachment parts. This will put a lot of pressure on the plane of attachment, which will entail the destruction of the drywall sheet.

If you decide to use a design with a rotary mechanism, then you need to:

• fasten it with bolts;
• it must be attached exclusively to the supporting elements of the frame. To find them, use a magnet, if the skeleton is made of wood, then by tapping;
• the weight of the device must be commensurate with the strength of the base.

To make a niche, you will need to partially dismantle the wall. Consider the work in stages:

• we mark out a rectangular area at a level a little larger than the television device itself for ease of handling;
• cut out according to the markings and take out this part of the drywall;
• remove the elements of the frame profile that come across and fix them around the perimeter of the cutout. If they are not enough, you will need to additionally purchase several items;
• we sheathe the ends of the niche with strips of drywall and finish the entire surface in accordance with the overall finish. You can arrange it in a different way, for example, in the color of the equipment and in any other way;
• we put the technique.

If the thickness of the wall does not allow placing the TV, you can fix it using the methods described above, or make the lower part of the niche from a durable material of the required width. This will create something that looks like a window sill.

Before hanging the TV on the wall, you need to first think about how to route the power source to the location of the devices. It will not be entirely appropriate to use carriers, as they will ruin the whole look of the interior.

Any room should be equipped with sockets for connecting household appliances. Indeed, in addition to the TV device itself, it is necessary to supply electricity to a video player, antenna amplifier and similar equipment. In this case, cable routing is a must.

The wiring can be:

• Open. Here, the cable is routed directly along the wall. This method does not look very aesthetically pleasing, but it is much easier and faster and does not require additional repair work.
• Hidden. This option is one of the most common due to the fact that the wires are completely hidden from view, which gives the room a neatness. All cables are masked under the upper or lower skirting boards, and are visible only in the places where they are connected directly to the sockets.

It is better to provide for the wiring of the electrical cable at the stage of installing the skeleton of the partitions and lining it with plasterboard sheets. Embedding a TV in this way is not at all difficult.

It is possible to attach a TV of absolutely any weight and dimensions to a plasterboard wall. To do this, you just need to strictly follow the instructions of the professionals. But significant problems are solved in advance by constructing the frame of the walls, on which it is necessary to strengthen the sections of the fasteners.
