How to make a borage with your own hands?

Everyone knows that cucumbers are very capricious and demanding plants. Therefore, in many regions, they can be grown normally only in borage. Moreover, most gardeners prefer to do them with their own hands, as this significantly reduces the cost of the structure. For the manufacture of a greenhouse or greenhouse, you can use various materials that are already available on the farm. Of course, if you want to make a capital structure, you will have to take care of both the foundation and a solid frame with a reliable coating in the form of glass or polycarbonate.

Making a comfortable and small greenhouse out of plastic pipes is not difficult if you follow the step-by-step instructions.

• First, a suitable site is selected. Then markings are applied on it along the perimeter of the future structure.
• At the corners and on the long sides, it is necessary to drive reinforcement into the ground every 80-100 centimeters. It is advisable to choose pins with a length of 60 centimeters or more. Moreover, at least 20 centimeters should remain above the surface.
• Arcs should be made of PVC pipes, and then put their ends on the pins. The result should be a series of arches. Pipes should be pre-selected in length. It is desirable that the height of the greenhouse should be at least 1.5 meters. However, if the design is made temporary, then it can be made lower.
• The arcs are fastened to each other with a strong twine. Then their ends must be pulled and tied to the pins, which are located along the axis of the borage.
• To cover the structure, you must use a film or spunbond. In this case, it is advisable to cut the canvas with a significant margin, both in length and in width. The prepared material must be thrown over the arcs, and pressed on the sides using boards. As for the ends of the film on both sides, they must be collected and fixed on the pins, like twine.
• From the ends, the borage should be closed with pieces of film, which should be stretched and fixed on the extreme arcs. The main canvas must be cut along the entire length of the structure and thrown over it, and then wound on both sides on slats of a suitable length.

The easiest way to make a wooden borage with your own hands is to assemble a structure from triangular trusses. In its shape, it will resemble a hut. Such a task is strong enough for everyone who knows how to use a hammer or screwdriver. This option will be an excellent solution for a summer residence.

You can make a structure from boards or timber up to three meters long. It is better to choose the section of the latter 40 by 40 millimeters or 30 by 50 millimeters. And also it will be necessary to prepare a pair of slats and boards corresponding to the length of the structure. The size of the greenhouse allows it to be organized in high ridges with wooden sides.It is convenient to mark on them the places where the trusses will be attached at a distance of no more than one and a half meters.

At the next stage, a couple of bars should be knocked together with the upper ends, and the lower ones should be nailed or screwed to the sides with self-tapping screws. To strengthen the upper connection, a longitudinal rail is used, which will pass through the trusses.

You can arrange such a greenhouse-hut directly on the ground. To do this, it is necessary to connect the ends of the supports at the bottom in advance with wooden veins. To give the structure strength, making it more stable, vertical supports should be installed under the center bar at the top. In such a structure, you can tie the lashes of cucumbers to the trellises, which can be pulled between the stakes in the ground and the lintel on top.

It is enough to simply throw the film over the entire hut, and then press it with boards or stones. However, the best option is to mount the canvas on one slope with fixation on the frame through the slats. In this case, the second end of the canvas should be nailed to the board. If the film is unrolled, then it will firmly adhere to the ground. When airing, the canvas can be wound on a board and raised to the desired height to open a greenhouse with cucumbers.

A greenhouse made of window frames is a simple and fairly common home-made option. However, it is very heavy and is not recommended for wet ground. To make such a structure as reliable as possible, it should be installed on a strip foundation.

It is necessary to start with the removal of fertile land in a strip of 15 centimeters along the entire perimeter of the future borage. Sand should be poured into the trench that has formed and a cushion of gravel or rubble should be laid.

Before making a greenhouse from window frames for cucumbers, let the concrete stand for one to two weeks. So he will gain the necessary strength. Moreover, for this entire period, the tape must be covered with a film. At this time, it is best to start preparing the frames.

• Then the intermediate racks are being installed. In this case, a distance is selected that corresponds to the width of the frames.

The most difficult and expensive option for a homemade greenhouse is considered to be a polycarbonate construction. Often, the frame for it is made high and made of metal. This will require certain tools and skills. And also it will be necessary to prepare drawings in advance. However, such a model will be able to stand for many years.

Currently, a variety of designs of polycarbonate greenhouse structures are presented: arched, pitched, wall-mounted, drop-shaped. It is necessary to choose the optimal one based on the available space for structures and personal capabilities. So, to give a metal pipe the shape of an arc, you will need a special tool. Otherwise, you will have to spend too much time on it. Most often, polycarbonate structures are made with straight walls and a pitched roof.

With a welding machine, the task is also greatly simplified. However, there are options for how to assemble the frame using bolted connections. It is important to determine in advance the dimensions of the structure, and make a detailed drawing with dimensions and designation of connections.

Such a greenhouse is installed on a strip foundation or simply on flooded posts. For strapping them, you can use a timber impregnated with an antiseptic, or a profile pipe. On this base, you will need to fix the frame. The latter is made from a metal profile or pipes, which are cut according to the drawing. After that, they must be connected using welding or bolts with fastening nozzles.

To fix polycarbonate sheets, you can use self-tapping screws with thermal washers. In this case, a split plastic profile with a cover is used to join adjacent plates. At the ends, the cladding is cut along the frame, after it has already been fixed.

A small polycarbonate borage can be assembled from scrap materials and tools that every summer resident often has. It is advisable to prepare the following tools in advance:

• grinder;
• self-tapping screws (ordinary and with a thermal washer);
• screwdriver;
• roulette;
• level;
• corners
• construction knife;
• pencil.

Building a greenhouse for cucumbers with your own hands is easy if you follow the steps below.

• First, you need to determine the place for the structure.
• Next, you should prepare the foundation. Of course, the profiles are not too heavy, but they need additional support. Before its manufacture, the place should be leveled, for which the digging and leveling of the soil is carried out.
• Then the frame is assembled from a profile with a size of 42 or 50 millimeters. At this stage, it is most convenient to assemble the structure from separate segments. The profile must be cut in advance according to the selected dimensions. For this, a grinder is used.
• When assembling the frame, it is important to refer to the drawing. Self-tapping screws should be used to fasten parts. As for the horizontal profiles, it is necessary to tighten them using transverse parts.
• To make the structure reliable and not deformed, it is worthwhile to carry out additional reinforcement at the corners. For this, a beveled bar is made from scraps of a metal profile.
• In total, you should get seven flat parts that look like a drawing of a house. Five of them must have exactly the same dimensions. As for the two end ones, they are different, since they will be reinforced with transverse strips. At the same time, a window and a doorway will be made in one of these parts.
• Fastening of finished parts to the base of the foundation is carried out using corners. Pulling is done by means of a transverse plank at the junction of the walls with the roof.
• The resulting structure must be sheathed with polycarbonate sheets. For what they are first cut according to the required dimensions. At this stage, it is important to avoid various inaccuracies.
• The sheets are fastened with self-tapping screws with a thermal washer using a screwdriver.Special self-tapping screws allow the polycarbonate to remain intact during the drilling phase.
