Breeding history

The Green Stream hybrid cucumber species appeared as a result of many years of work by a group of Russian breeders of the Gavrish agricultural company in 2013. In 2015, the vegetable crop was included in the State Register of approved for use on the territory of the Russian Federation. You can grow Green Stream cucumbers under a temporary shelter or in film-type greenhouses. The culture is productive in different climatic zones of Russia.

Description of the variety

Green stream is a medium-sized shrub of an indeterminate type, which has weak branching, moderate foliage with dark green leaves, a developed root system and shortened shoots. A characteristic feature of the plant is a powerful central stem, on which all fruiting is concentrated, stretching up to 2.5-3 meters in height.

During the flowering period, large bright yellow flowers are formed on the bushes, which bloom in a female pattern. 3-5 ovaries are formed in each bunch.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents

The hybrid cucumber species is characterized by excellent commercial qualities. Green plants weighing 130-150 grams ripen on a healthy bush. The color of cucumbers is rich green, diluted with light short stripes. The shape of the vegetable is correct - cylindrical or oval-cylindrical. The rind is quite dense, but not tough, with pronounced tuberosity and light spines.

The fruits are prone to overgrowth, gaining decent weight and length. An overgrown cucumber can weigh about 300 grams and be up to 30 cm long, but the taste does not deteriorate.

The harvested crop tolerates long-term transportation without significant losses, and can also be stored for a long time in a cool place (7-10 days).

Purpose and taste of fruits

The early variety Zeleniy Potok is famous for its excellent taste. Cucumber pulp has a fleshy, moderately firm, tender and juicy texture, without voids and wateriness. The vegetable has a harmonious taste, dominated by summer sweetness, bright refreshing aroma and pleasant crunch. There is no bitterness in cucumbers, and the seeds are small, not coarse, therefore, they are practically invisible when eaten.

Zelentsa has a universal purpose - they are eaten fresh, prepared salads, various vegetable cuts, pickled, canned, salted. It is important that the canned cucumber does not lose its crunch.

Maturation

Early ripe cucumbers. Only 40-45 days pass from the emergence of sprouts to the ripening of fruits on the bushes. The germination of shoots and the formation of ovaries in the plant are friendly. Fruiting is extended and continuous. The mass harvest takes place at the end of June - beginning of July. The dates may be shifted due to the climatic features of the region.

Yield

The hybrid is declared as a high-yielding hybrid, which bribes large farms. Providing the correct agricultural technology for the crop, you can count on a good harvest. On average, up to 14.2 kg of greens can be collected from 1 m2. The yield indicators for cucumbers grown in the beds are lower - up to 7.5 kg / m2.

Landing scheme

When planting seedlings, it is necessary to observe the distance between the bushes, as well as the planting pattern. It is recommended to place 3 bushes per 1 m2. The correct scheme is considered to be 30x70 cm.

Growing and care

The culture is grown mainly by seedlings. Cucumbers are planted in the greenhouse in the second half of May, and in garden beds in the first week of June. The ideal planting material is bushes with 4-5 true leaves, a central stem height of 20-25 cm and a strengthened root system. It is good to plant cucumbers in the area where early onions, cabbage, potatoes previously grew.

Caring for the plant includes regular watering with warm water (drip irrigation system), loosening and weeding the soil, applying top dressing, tying bushes, pinching and pinching the central stem, preventing diseases and pest infestations.

Soil requirements
