The hybrid variety Millionaire was bred by breeders for a long time - in the early 2000s. However, the Uralsky Dachnik company presented it on the market only in 2016, Agro LLC - in 2021, and it still has not appeared in the State Register.
Description of the variety
The Millionaire variety is pollinated. Because of this, when completing the planting material, a couple of seeds of the pollinator variety, tinted in a different color, are immediately added to the package with the seeds of this hybrid. As a result, two varieties develop on the site at once, carrying out cross-pollination.
Each bunch can form from 6 to 10 ovaries, but they ripen unevenly. An interesting feature of the hybrid is that the ripening of the following greens begins only after harvesting ripe gherkins.
Even being on the bushes for a long time, the fruits will not outgrow. The Millionaire hybrid is characterized by drought tolerance, as well as the ability to thrive in the absence of sufficient lighting. The variety's immunity provides it with "protection" against diseases such as olive spot, powdery mildew, and cucumber mosaic. Since the Millionaire belongs to the balcony varieties, it can be very successfully bred outdoors and indoors.
Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents
The Millionaire hybrid has a powerful root system, and small bright green leaves on strong vines allow it to be grown even in a limited area. Branching in this species is limited.
Cucumbers of the Millionaire variety have an elongated cylindrical shape and a dark emerald color. Slightly pubescent thin skin is covered with noticeable tubercles and longitudinal light stripes. The length of the fruit is about 8-12 centimeters, and the diameter does not exceed 4 centimeters. The weight of hybrid greens can reach from 85 to 115 grams.
Purpose and taste of fruits
The dense and slightly crunchy pulp of the Millionaire variety has a delicate taste, devoid of any bitterness, and an expressive aroma. Its taste characteristics do not deteriorate even in the absence of regular irrigation. The advantage is the absence of voids in the pulp. Vegetables are used for fresh food, and are also used to create preparations.
Maturation
The Millionaire hybrid is considered early maturing. It usually takes 38 to 40 days from germination to harvest of the first crop. Deteriorating weather conditions slows down the development of culture.
Yield
The yield of the variety is very high - about 40 kilograms per square meter. If the lashes are formed correctly, then the last vegetables can be removed even in October. The harvest of cucumbers is well transported over medium distances, and also demonstrates good keeping quality in a cool dark room when the required conditions are met.
Growing and care
Since the Millionaire is a hybrid, you won't be able to use the seeds from the harvested cucumbers - you will have to purchase new material every time. Before planting, it is customary to germinate the grains, placing them between layers of constantly moistened gauze.
Soil for cucumber seedlings is purchased ready-made, enriched with the required fertilizers, or it is compiled independently from turf, leafy soil, high peat, river sand of a coarse fraction, as well as compost. The above components are taken in equal proportions and are most often supplemented with wood ash. The finished soil must be disinfected by calcining in an oven or sprinkling with a manganese solution.
Cucumbers of the Millionaire variety at an early stage of development have a very delicate root system and do not tolerate picking well, and therefore it is better to immediately plant seed in individual containers or peat pots.
It is customary to put 2 seeds in each container, and then remove the weaker seedling. The grains have to be deepened by about 1 centimeter. Before emergence, the contents of the containers remain under plastic wrap. It should be mentioned that the culture is planted on seedlings in March, and it is sent to the ground in the second half of May.
The beds for the Millionaire should be prepared in advance, by introducing organic matter and digging before autumn. In the spring, 1 tablespoon of superphosphate and potassium salt is poured into the hole. The seedlings are transferred to the pits by the transfer method, after which the soil is poured from above, and everything is irrigated. It is important that there are no more than 2 cucumbers on each square meter of the beds.
In the future, the plant will need to be formed into one shoot, so that the foliage has enough natural light, and the fruits - nutrients. Watering cucumbers is carried out every 3-4 days, ideally by drip irrigation. It should be plentiful, but carried out using only heated, settled liquid.
From the top dressing, the Millionaire will first need nitrogen-containing complexes that activate the development of lateral shoots, and then mineral compositions with potassium and phosphorus, introduced at intervals of 6-8 days. Mixed feeding, obtained, for example, from 500 grams of mullein, 10 grams of potassium sulfate and 10 liters of warm water, will not be superfluous. One bucket of this mixture is enough to process 2 square meters of culture.
In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.
Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.
