The cucumber variety Malysh appeared in 1991. Its authors are considered to be employees of the Volgograd experimental station VNIIR im. Vavilova, breeders Malychenko L.P. and Popova A.M.
In 1994, the crop was included in the State Register for the Lower Volga region for growing in the open field.
Description of the variety
The bush variety Malysh can reach a height of 30-40 cm, focusing on the length of the main stem with a certain type of garter. The cucumber is considered to be bee-pollinated.
Characteristics of the appearance of plants and zelents
The bush itself has weak branching, the number of greens in a bunch can reach 6. Its slightly dissected and dark green leaves have a pentagonal-rounded shape.
The fruits of the plant are small, they reach 9-9.5 cm in length, 2.7-3.5 cm in diameter. The mass of one green leaf varies from 81 to 113 g. Cucumbers usually have a dark green color with light stripes and a large tuberous surface ...

Taste described by the tasters: good and no bitterness. The cucumber itself is fragrant, has a dense, but tender and crunchy flesh.
Maturation
In terms of ripening, the Kid refers to ultra-early or early. The process takes 41-43 days.
Yield
The variety belongs to the medium-yielding variety. Average rate: 127-258 c / ha.
The variety also has good marketability of 71.5-96% and transportability.
Landing scheme
Planting scheme: 40x40 cm. A similar acceptable view: 30x50 cm, where the first value is the distance between the bushes, the second is the distance between the rows. Hole depth: 2-3 cm.
Growing and care
Planting seeds for seedlings begins in early May, and at the end of the month they are already transferred to open ground. Planting seeds directly into the ground begins at the end of May. An important condition: good warming up of the soil.
Baby Seeds can be purchased at specialist gardening stores. Before disembarking, you can carry out the following procedures with them.
Soak for 15-20 minutes in a solution with an antiseptic (it can be potassium permanganate or hydrogen peroxide). Rinse and dry.
A couple of days before planting, place in a damp cloth and leave in a sunny place. The tissue needs to be kept moist in order for it to grow.
After planting in the soil, the bed is covered with a film or agrofibre, and the material is not removed until the first shoots.
The watering required for this variety is moderate. Experienced gardeners recommend two methods: drip and rain. Watering should be carried out either in the morning or in the evening with lukewarm, settled water.
Cucumber bushes also need periodic loosening and weeding. This provides oxygen access to the root system, the proper development of fruits and the bush as a whole.
Soil requirements
Good soil for this variety is light and non-acidic.Ideal if it belongs to the sandy loam or loamy type. Land preparation begins in the fall.
A place in the sun and with optimal ventilation is chosen. A slight darkening does not greatly affect the growth of the bushes.
Suitable progenitor plants include:
tomatoes,
early ripe potatoes,
corn,
peas.
After plants like squash, pumpkin and garlic, cucumbers are usually not planted for the reason that the land will not be fertile enough.
Before planting, the soil is fertilized with compost. It is possible to introduce manure and fertilizers directly in the process of digging the ridge. Proportions: 1 bucket per 1 m2.
Alternatively, gardeners offer mixtures of potassium salt and superphosphate (25 g and 40 g, respectively). In the case of spring digging of the site, ammonium nitrate is added to the soil in an amount of 15-29 g per 1 m2.
In order to collect strong, tasty and beautiful cucumbers on your site, you need to make top dressing. Lack of nutrients can negatively affect the appearance of the plant and significantly reduce the yield. Fertilize cucumbers with organic fertilizers in combination with mineral fertilizers. With the right balance of these components and adherence to the fertilizing schedule, the cucumber yield will be maximum.
Despite their popularity, cucumbers are often attacked by diseases and pests. From them, cucumber plantings often die before the start of fruiting. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to try to prevent ailments or get rid of them at the very beginning, having studied in detail their causes of occurrence, signs and methods of treatment.
