Glass wallpaper is an innovative coating that, due to its strength and durability, is gradually replacing the usual paper wallpaper. "Rogozhka" - one of the types of this product, perhaps the most dense and safe. Such material is suitable for any premises, including those with high humidity, they are pasted over with it not only walls and ceilings, but also doors and pieces of furniture.

Material features

Glass fiber is a material made on a special weaving machine. It is based on fiberglass threads obtained by melting glass at high temperatures. To impart strength, the resulting fabric is treated with starch impregnations, after which it is painted with water-based dyes with latex additives. The quality of fiberglass is determined by the number of threads that create a certain density and, accordingly, strength.

The roll cover differs in its texture and pattern, depending on the weaving. In this regard, such species as "Rhombus", "Yolochka", "Rogozhka" are distinguished. However, different patterns and textures may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

The coating "Rogozhka" is produced in the form of products with small, medium and large texture. The main difference between these types is the density of the material. Small products have a density of 120 g / m2, medium - 130 g / m2, the most durable and reliable fabric with a large texture has an indicator from 130 to 200 g / m2. The coating is available in rolls of 25 or 50 meters with a standard width of 1 meter.

Also, fiberglass materials can be classified by quality. Allocate products of the 1st grade, class "economy", 2nd grade. This means that the first-class fiberglass wallpaper meets all the stated requirements and is a high-quality product. Economy class material is less dense, and therefore less reliable in use. The second grade is, to put it mildly, a marriage that professionals do not advise to acquire.

Use of products in the interior

The coating is used in public and residential premises, medical institutions due to its quick and easy cleaning and disinfection.

You can glue the wallpaper in any room - the larger its area, the larger the Rogozhka weaving can be.

Basic rules of application:

  • competent cutting of the canvas, exact alignment of the pattern, tight joining of sheets;
  • it is undesirable to use a large or insufficient amount of glue;
  • the consistency of the paint must match the texture of the product, so as not to paint over the drawing completely.

For the work, the glue of the same brand as the glass wallpaper is selected. The paint should be selected based on the purpose of the coating. If frequent washing is expected, it is preferable to stay on an acrylic composition of a matte type.

How to properly paste over the surface

In order for the decoration of the room with fiberglass to be successful, the following sequence of actions should be observed:

  • prepare the base, including cleaning and eliminating irregularities and defects;
  • glue in the form of a powder or thick suspension is diluted with water;
  • it cannot be applied to fiberglass sheets, but only to walls or ceilings;
      • pre-prepared sheets are carefully applied to the glue base and left to dry for a day;
      • for this time, it is necessary to exclude drafts and UV exposure to the glass wallpaper;
      • after 24 hours, the surface is primed by adding glue to the solution, one or two layers are applied;
      • You can start painting the coating with a roller, if several layers of dye are applied, intervals of 12 hours between them are necessary until completely dry.

      Masters with experience in such work are advised to choose a large or medium "Rogozhka" for covering the walls, and a small texture of the material for the ceiling. For furniture, products are selected that are suitable for wall decoration, taking into account the general style.
