Hitch for the Neva walk-behind tractor
The walk-behind tractor can be called a universal and simply irreplaceable device for owners of small and medium-sized plots of land, which acts as a replacement for large tractors. With its help, the processing of arable land, planting and harvesting, moving things and removing snow, as well as mowing work is carried out.
The most popular is the Neva MB-2 walk-behind tractor, produced by the Krasny Oktyabr plant for almost 40 years. For effective and varied work, this technique simply needs such a device as a hitch.
Types and features of coupling devices
The coupling device is an element made of durable metal designed to attach additional equipment to agricultural machinery. In general, the hitch consists of a stand, a clutch housing with a screw and a handle, brackets and pins, and these elements are fastened together with bolts and nuts.
There are several types of coupling devices for walk-behind tractors.
- The APM hitch is used in the case of soil cultivation with a plow or hiller and harvesting with a digger. In this case, the hitch for the Neva walk-behind tractor is carried out with only three bolted joints.
- Due to its design, the universal hitch is able to raise the walk-behind tractor so that the plow or hiller enters the soil perpendicularly. In addition, with its help, you can attach not one, but two or even three canopies. The universal hitch is equipped with a tilt angle adjustment mechanism in all planes.
- Coupling device "MK" was created exclusively for cultivation of sown land with motor-blocks "Krot" and "ON".
- Homemade couplings of various designs are used in cases where original devices cannot be purchased for some reason.
Main characteristics of universal couplings
The versatile pull tool usually has a bolted design for clamping and is fixed to the canopies with a special adapter.
The main characteristics of such couplings include:
- the size of the staple of the walk-behind tractor and the hitch;
- method of installing the staple (inward or outward);
- the required number of pins for fixing (usually 1-3 pcs.);
- the need to use spacer bolts;
- correction of gripping angles in different positions;
- mass.
The choice of a universal hitch for the "Neva" walk-behind tractor
Usually, when buying universal couplings in specialized stores, there are no problems with selection, since sellers and consultants will always come to the rescue. However, in some cases it is not enough to know the name and model of your walk-behind tractor. In such situations, it is necessary to take measurements and photograph the view of the hitch of your agricultural machinery.
There are options where the front brace of the assembly is based on a bushing, the size of the king pin of which can also vary. Otherwise, the fastening is done using the holes on the two brackets. Moreover, in both cases, you should pay attention to the size of the support bolts and the length between them.
When choosing a universal hitch for "Neva MB-2", it should be borne in mind that there are split and one-piece structures. Moreover, the first type is the most advantageous, since its rear part can be detached, and the position of the axis in space can be adjusted.
This practicality is expressed in the possibility of connecting three sheds at once and greater productivity.
Guide for installing the hitch on the "Neva MB-2" walk-behind tractor
Place the hitching element of the hitch properly on the hitch of the walk-behind tractor, and then connect them together using the pins that are supplied with the agricultural equipment. If the mechanism has a bolted connection, then fix both brackets with spacer bolts... The installation of the tool on the hitch is carried out according to the instructions, which are described below.
Align the hitch axle with the rod on the tool rack bracket. Please note that the end face on the pull-out axle must not intersect with the bracket during the mounting of the hitch with the tool shaft... Slide the hitch axle to the bracket axle and fasten them together with screws.
Place the threaded axle in the bore of the hitch frame and then secure with the screw. Install the thread for the bolt on the surface of the hitch frame and on the tool stand. Secure them with bolts and nuts.
During pre-installation, bolt the grooves so that the tool stand is vertical and, by working with the handle, achieve a slight tilt angle on the other side.
Start the Neva MB-2 walk-behind tractor and make sure it runs correctly with the canopy, if necessary adjusting its position, first stopping the walk-behind tractor.
Do not forget to tighten all types of connections before starting the tool, and after stopping, clean and lubricate them if necessary.
Summing up, we can conclude that no walk-behind tractor can perform the entire range of its functions without a coupling. This irreplaceable metal element has many varieties, but all of them reliably hold the equipment together with the sheds you need.
