A walk-behind tractor is an irreplaceable device in the household. Thanks to him, you can cultivate the land without spending much effort or a lot of time on it. But there is one unpleasant detail. Not all walk-behind tractors are capable of performing their direct functions equally well, since many of them often suffer from the problem of slipping. This did not go unnoticed, and manufacturers specifically make weighting agents in order to solve this difficult problem.

What is it for?

Basically, weights are used in walk-behind tractors, which are more intended for plowing the earth.

The weighting agent, increasing the weight of the walk-behind tractor, normalizes the balance, thereby stabilizing its operation on an inclined plane and on solid ground. This increases the efficiency of work and simplifies the work with agricultural machinery.

And also walk-behind tractors are great for transporting small loads on any road. It is because of this that they have become simply necessary in rural areas, where there are not always smooth, good roads. And the weighting agent makes it possible to use agricultural machinery in this capacity.

How to make it yourself?

Weights are attached both to the body of the walk-behind tractor and to its wheels. In principle, any objects can act as this very weighting agent. But it's still better to take care and make more or less professional equipment. Let's see how to make them correctly.

To create you need the following components:

  • small weights;
  • barbell pancakes;
  • car clutch baskets;
  • hex profile.

But also one cannot fail to mention the necessary tools:

  • welding machine;
  • Bulgarian;
  • electric drill;
  • polymer paint of any color.

First, you need to cut the profile into two parts, each of them should be 10 cm. Then, using a drill, we drill the holes that are needed for the cotter pins. Next, it is necessary to attach rod discs and a clutch machine basket to the profile parts. After this process, we weld 3 kg weights to these very baskets. At the end, we cover this entire constructed structure with polymer paint. We fix it on the walk-behind tractor itself.

Because of these actions, the weight of the walk-behind tractor increases by 40-60 kg. It is better not to use concrete for these purposes.

How to fix?

It is best to attach the weighting agent to the frame using special bolts, although you can weld them directly to the walk-behind tractor body. To be honest, the bolt version is much more practical, since in case of transportation it is easier to place it in a box or anywhere else. And also, due to the unnecessaryness, bolted weights are easier to disconnect than welded ones.

Unfortunately, there are times when weighting materials do not give the expected result. If you are in such a situation, then you should load the walk-behind tractor even more.

We advise you to attach pancakes from a barbell weighing up to 20 kg to the body, and attach small round weights to the wheels. The main thing here is not to overdo it, since excessive overload can harm the device itself, which will cost you quite a lot.

Specific examples

Wheels of the Shtenli G-192 walk-behind tractor are often equipped with weights.

This is a large-sized device that makes land cultivation a breeze. But there are certain operating rules.

  1. Shtenli G-192 wheels should not be overloaded by more than 100 kg, since such an overload can negatively affect engine operation.
  2. Its working time is approximately 60-70 minutes.After this time has elapsed, it should be turned off and wait until the engine has cooled down. Then you can get to work again. It should be noted that the more weight, the less time the walk-behind tractor will work, and it will have to be cooled more.
  3. Maintenance schedules must be followed. That is, change oil, spark plugs and filters at regular intervals. Carry out a complete technical inspection once a year.
  4. Use ear plugs to protect your eardrums from excessive noise, and gloves can help prevent vibration.
  5. Remember to store the walk-behind tractor in a warm, dry place. This is very important, since moisture is the enemy of any technique and can ruin the operation of the device.

Some technical parameters of this walk-behind tractor:

  • there is support for additional devices;
  • type of connection with the power take-off shaft pulley (belt);
  • heavyweight cultivator;
  • reverse rotation of cutters;
  • cultivation depth 30 cm;
  • tillage width 90 cm;
  • electric starter is present;
  • diesel engine, four-stroke, cylinders 2;
  • engine capacity 12 liters. with.;
  • disc clutch;
  • type of gear lever: step mechanical;
  • autoreverse is present;
  • number of gears 6 forward, 2 reverse;
  • type of regulator gear;
  • wheel dimensions - height 13, width - 7.50 cm;
  • pneumatic wheels;
  • tank volume 6 l;
  • weight 5 kg.

Consider an example of weighting the MZR-820 walk-behind tractor.

This type of walk-behind tractor is already somewhat smaller than the previous one, but this does not mean that it is less effective. With it, you can plow, remove snow and transport small loads if the wheels are heavier.

Now let's talk about some of the operating rules.

  1. First you need to say that it is better not to overload it, since it has a small size. The permissible wheel overload can be no more than 50 kg, and the total overload must be no more than 100 kg.
  2. When starting up for the first time, make sure that the walk-behind tractor is fully charged and filled with oil.
  3. After you have run in the oil, it must be drained, and the next time you work with the device, fill in a new fresh one.
  4. Make sure that small stones, grass and branches do not fall into the cutters. They can damage the knives.
  5. Switch on the device on a level surface.
  6. Once a year, undergo a full technical check in special places.
  7. Store the walk-behind tractor in a dry, warm place.

Here are some of its parameters:

  • the volume of the fuel tank is 3.6 liters;
  • warranty period 3 years;
  • gasoline engine type;
  • power 180 kW / 8 hp with.;
  • belt clutch;
  • chain regulator;
  • gear lever, number of speeds 2-1;
  • capture width 100 cm;
  • capture depth 30 cm;
  • engine volume 210 cm3;
  • turning on from the hand;
  • weight 90 kg;
  • cutter configuration, wheels 4-10, opener;
  • a power take-off shaft is present.
