Mei tiles: advantages and range

Ceramic tiles as a finishing material have long gone beyond the bathroom. A wide variety of decors and textures allows you to use it in any room and for any style. A wide choice of colors and surfaces is offered to Russian buyers by the Mei brand.

Products of the German manufacturer Meissen Keramik entered the Russian market under the Mei brand in 2015. The company began its journey in 1863 with the production of porcelain, and 40 years later, the first samples of wall tiles came off the assembly line. Over the past hundred plus years, Meissen Keramik has gained the status of an internationally renowned manufacturer of decorative ceramics. The ceramic products of the company are focused on the modern home, which combines comfort and practicality.

The main feature of Mei tiles is their high quality. This is not at all an unfounded statement, because selected white clay is used for its production. Products made of white clay, in contrast to red clay, are characterized by better strength characteristics, low water permeability and resistance to mechanical stress. However, good material alone is not enough to produce a high quality product. Attention to detail in both manufacturing and design, modernization of production and the introduction of innovative technologies are what, according to the manufacturer, became the key to success.

Among other qualities, Mei tiles are considered sustainable. not only to moisture, but also to temperature extremes, as well as to the action of household chemicals. The variety of designs is a matter of special pride. Much attention is paid to accurate reproduction of patterns and textures of natural materials: wood and stone. Many series are characterized by bright accents in the form of panels against a background of monochrome pastel colors.

The brand's lineup is quite extensive, all types of surfaces and decors are combined into the following collections:

• Amelie. This series will appeal to romantic natures. Floral design combined with pastel colors imitates vintage fabric wallpaper. The surface is matte, rough. The collection is complemented by a decorative glass border in the same color scheme.

• Beton. This collection is a godsend for lovers of industrial styles and loft. The matt, structured surface conveys the pattern and relief of the concrete wall / floor. The color scheme is beige and shades of gray.

• Elfe - glossy and sleek ruler, characterized by bright abstract motifs.

• Fargo and Stone - background series imitating natural stone. Realism is added by the pattern and texture characteristic of the stone.

• Rustic - a clever imitation of aged wooden planks. There are only two color options: brown and gray. The surface is matt with a characteristic wood relief.

• Sindi - collection of wall tiles. Its peculiarity is the contrast of light and dark shades both in the background tiles and in the decorative insert. The whole picture is complemented by bright accents in the form of colored glass borders.

• Tessa Is a wall series that imitates precious woods in a warm range from light to dark. The tree itself looks great, but the manufacturer's designers suggest adding chic with the help of inserts with a floral pattern: exquisite brown and gold ornaments and decorative panels depicting an apple blossom.

• Urban. This series was inspired by the patchwork style. For the patchwork texture, a combination of blue, gray, beige and dark brown was chosen.

• Lara. This is an imitation of aristocratic marble. Basic colors: white, beige and black. Decorating elements are presented in several versions: multicolor mosaic, floral ornament and black and white ceramic border.

• Luxus. It is proposed to dilute the background white color with one of three decors: floral patterns in white or bright colors, or a laconic honeycomb pattern in pastel colors.

• Collection Modern - a combination of embossed or smooth ceramics with decorative ornaments in blue, gray and pink shades.

• Pret-a-Porte. Black and white motifs have long become classics, and a glass panel in the form of a flower in the same range will add the missing accent.

• Vivid Colors - a bright collection in blue and lilac tones. The centerpiece is a glass panel with a 3D effect.

There are not so many reviews regarding the brand's products, presumably this is due to the recent entry into the Russian market. Those users who shared their experience note the spectacular appearance and high quality of the tiles at an affordable price. The number of rejects is minimal. The correct geometrical shape is easy to install.
