What comes first: wallpaper or laminate flooring?

That is why the advice of almost all experienced specialists agree on one opinion - only after gluing the wallpaper should you start laying the laminate.

If you have already started renovating your apartment the other way around, that is, with finishing the floor, do not be discouraged. The main thing is that all work is done with the utmost care. Cover the floor with foil to avoid damage to the surface. Also remember that the floor can be easily damaged by furniture with metal legs.During transportation, scratches may remain; the film will not protect against their formation. In such a situation, you need to use something more durable.

It doesn't matter if you install laminate or linoleum, the order of work remains the same:

• the first step is to prepare the walls - alignment, putty. The quality of wallpapering depends on this stage;
• screed or creating a black floor;
• wallpaper is glued;
• after the wallpaper is completely dry, you can start laying the laminate. At the end, the plinth and other decorative elements are attached.

If it already happened that you first made the flooring and only then proceeded to glue the wallpaper, you should adhere to the following rules so as not to damage the laminate:

• cover the entire surface of the laminate with film, paper or some kind of cloth;
• do not rush to do the job quickly, the main thing is to do everything efficiently;
• when transporting furniture, be as careful as possible, put special cardboard pads on the metal legs.

Each specialist has his own opinion about what to do first - gluing wallpaper or laying laminate. The decision does not at all depend on the professionalism of the employees, it depends on the convenience, availability of materials and other factors.

One of the main nuances that affect the sequence of work is the amount of debris that will be generated during the repair process.
