How to connect the music center to the TV?
To listen to music at a high level at home, many music lovers continue to use stereos. The main purpose of this technique is to accurately reproduce high, mid and low frequencies, as a result of which audio tracks sound rich and clear. To improve sound quality, equipment is often connected to televisions - both new and outdated models.
Connection methods
There are several ways to connect the music center to your TV, allowing each user to choose the most convenient and practical one. The synchronization process cannot be called complicated, however, during operation you need to adhere to a certain scheme. Also, the connection will depend on the TV model and music equipment.
The most common and practical way to connect technology with each other is use a special cable, with which you can implement pairing directly, without adapters and additional equipment. This method does not require separate settings on the part of the user and practically eliminates the occurrence of problems. You can only use this method if the TV receiver and the music center have the same connectors.
If the ports are different or you need to connect a subwoofer to the equipment, use the receiver and synchronize through it.
Despite the peculiarities of each of the connection options and the model of the equipment used, there is a general scheme and sequence. First, you need to carefully inspect the equipment for the presence of existing and identical connectors. Having decided on the type of port that will be used, you should select the appropriate cable and check its integrity. In some cases, adapters will be needed.
With connecting cables connect the equipment using the appropriate connectors. Before this, the equipment must be de-energized. If the AUX port was used during pairing, it must be activated through the settings of the music equipment. If you yourself did not manage to figure out the types of connectors, you need to carefully study the instructions or contact the service center specialists.
Through cable
First, you need to carefully inspect the equipment and find the same connectors. As a rule, manufacturers place them on the back or side panel (on some TV models, they may be at the bottom). As a rule, synchronization is done via tulips (RCA). For pairing, an appropriate cable is used, which is connected by color. As a rule, it does not come with the equipment and is purchased separately.
Either of two cable options will work: 2RCA or 3RCA. If you chose the second option, the yellow plug is not used unnecessarily, since it is designed to transmit a video signal. The white and red plugs are responsible for transmitting the audio signal.
To start connecting you need to find the corresponding ports on the audio equipment, marked with the inscription Audio In. On the TV, the required output is marked Audio Out. The technique is connected with "tulips" according to the colors in which the connectors and plugs are painted.
This pairing method is often chosen to connect the music center to outdated TVs.
If the TV receiver does not have an Audio Out port, for pairing you can use the headset jack (headphones). In this case, you cannot do without a 3.5 mm 2RCA cable, which must be purchased separately. Many experts recommend syncing via an optical cable. This option provides excellent sound quality. The equipment is connected through the Optical Out port (the output on the TV, which is often blocked by a plug) and the Optical In (the input on the music equipment).
For pairing the center with modern TV models often use the HDMI port. If it is available on both types of equipment, it is easy to connect. This option allows you to transmit sound and images of high quality and get the most out of listening to music and other media files. It is not recommended to save on cable, otherwise the signal may be interrupted.
If the required port is missing on the music center, pairing can be done via AUX. To do this, you need a special adapter and HDMI cable. With the help of a cord, you can connect two types of technology, turn it on and enjoy a new level of sound. If the work is done correctly, the sound will be played through the speakers and not through the TV speakers. Extraneous sounds and noises may appear if a damaged cable is used. You can also solve the problem by changing the volume settings. It is recommended to check the integrity of the connectors.
Through the receiver
You can connect equipment using a receiver (multichannel amplifier). In this case, the musical equipment must be connected to the receiver, and it to the TV receiver. This option is often used if it is not possible to pair directly.
The main feature of this method is that additional acoustics can be connected to the receiver, including a low-frequency speaker. This will help take your sound to the next level and maximize the fullness of each track.
Clean and surround sound will be appreciated not only by experienced music lovers, but also by movie lovers who use the stereo system to watch films and TV series.
When pairing equipment via the receiver you can choose any of the available connectors (RCA, HDMI, 3.5mm and other options). An optical or coaxial cable will also work. The key is to choose the right inputs and outputs.
On the receiver, the required connector is labeled IN, and on the TV, the port is labeled as OUT. When pairing the amplifier with musical equipment, on the latter, connect the cord to the IN port, and on the receiver - OUT. If tulips are used for work, the connection is made according to the standard scheme, according to colors (red and white).
Possible problems
All users face problems when pairing equipment, especially beginners who are connecting for the first time. When synchronizing equipment, the following problems may occur.
- If you are sure that the connection is correct, but sound still does not play through the speakers of the music center, it is necessary to replace the cord and try again. Even the highest quality cables deteriorate over time. To prolong their life, you need to store them folded, without creases or strong clamps.
- A rupture of even one of the cores leads to the fact that the cable stops working. If this is the first time you are using the cord, you may be dealing with defective products.
- Another common reason is defective connectors. If they start to wobble, repair is needed. With frequent connection or careless handling, they wear out and begin to play. You can solve the problem by contacting the service center. Also, specialists can clean ports from oxidation and dust particles.
Tips for choosing a cable
If you connect the equipment to the TV using the headphone output, you need to pick up a paired wire. It can be easily identified by the presence of a red and white plug.It is enough to find the ports with the corresponding colors on the TV receiver panel and connect the equipment.
Also many users use adapter cables. Modern options are presented in a wide variety, allowing you to pair any type of technique. Decide through which ports you will connect the equipment, then it is worth choosing a cable of the required type.
Given the widespread use of adapters, there are many cheap analogs, however, experts do not recommend using them for pairing. These cables are cheap, but they quickly fail and transmit the signal at an insufficient level. An expensive option will last a long time and will pleasantly surprise you with its practicality. This is especially true for HDMI cords. The transmission of pure and surround sound is impossible without a quality cable.
