The plow is a special device for plowing the soil, equipped with an iron share. It is intended for loosening and overturning the upper layers of the soil, which is considered an important part of the continuous cultivation and cultivation for winter crops. At first, the plows were pulled by a man, a little later by livestock. Today, a tool for plowing soil for a walk-behind tractor is one of the possibilities for using this auxiliary motor equipment, in addition to mini-tractors or tractors.

Varieties of plowing implements

To increase the efficiency of the work performed, it is extremely important to thoroughly approach the question: which agricultural equipment is better to choose for motor vehicles.

There are the following types of soil plowing implements:

  • two-body (2-sided);
  • negotiable;
  • disk;
  • rotary (active);
  • turning.

    And there are also several options for fixing them:

    • trailed;
    • hinged;
    • semi-mounted.

    Let's consider some of the soil cultivation accessories in more detail.

    Rotary (active)

    A rotary tool for plowing soil for motor vehicles is compared to an iron comb, which allows you to plow the soil. These types of agricultural implements of various modifications can have a variety of configurations. But these modifications are connected by the fact that their design becomes wider upward, which makes it possible for these devices to pour out the soil to the side of the furrow.

    An active plow has virtually the same field of application as a conventional plowing tool, with the only difference that it functions faster, more fruitful. However, there are also certain features of its use. So, with a rotary device it is much easier to process uncultivated land, abundantly overgrown with wild plants. The soil discarded by the plowshares of this agricultural equipment is better crushed and mixed, which becomes a plus when cultivating certain types of soil.

    When choosing an implement for plowing the soil, it is necessary to take into account the availability of the option to adjust the depth of cut and the degree of inclination for greater work efficiency.

    Revolving (rotary)

    The tool for plowing the soil of the reversible type is collapsible, probably this is the best option, since sharpening or rotation of the knife is possible.

    You should decide what dimensions the plow will have - which directly depends on what modification of motor vehicles you use.

    For a more effective use of the tool for plowing the soil, it is necessary to adjust the tool, for this it is advisable to use a hitch (it is possible without it).

    In order to more accurately perform the adjustment, it is worth taking into account a number of basic provisions:

    • it is necessary that the longitudinal axes of the unit and the regulator are aligned;
    • vertical position of the beam.

    Such an installation will make it possible to carry out agricultural work more productively. But it is also required to use extension cords on axle shafts and iron wheels with weights for all sorts of tasks.

    A swivel plow can, having a drawing and certain skills, be created from steel with high structural strength on its own. Therefore, for such a homemade device it costs nothing to withstand heavy loads during work on the land.

    When using this equipment for motor vehicles, you must adhere to several recommendations:

    • the device should not have a thin stand, a shortened blade, a small thickness of the body sheet;
    • the instruction manual must be present.

    Double-hull (2-sided)

    Double-sided agricultural implements (hiller, he is a cultivator, two-winged plow, row cultivator) are practiced to loosen the soil around the plants, rolling it to the base of the stems of various crops. Additionally, weeds are eliminated between the rows. Such tools can be used to cultivate the land, cut grooves for planting plants, and then fill them up by turning on the reverse gear of the unit. Such structures are distinguished only by the width of the working grip - variable and constant. The difference between them is solely in the moving wings, which adjust the working width.

    A device that, with a constant grip width, functions with light motor vehicles (up to 30 kilograms), with a motor power of up to 3.5 horsepower. Their distinctive feature is 12-mm racks (they protect the unit from overloads).

    The most common types of hillers are adapters with a variable working width. Their only flaw is the shedding of the soil into the furrow after the pass. Such equipment comes with units of more than 30 kilograms, with motors with a resource of 4 liters. with. and more.

    Original equipment

    The manufacturer presents a multifunctional modification of the reversible land plowing tool PU-00.000-01, which is adapted for the heavy walk-behind tractor "Belarus MTZ 09 N", but not suitable for every MTZ. It is controlled with plowing of soil of any density, including virgin soil. As distinctive features, you can focus on the small mass of the device, which is only 16 kilograms.

    Preparing for installation

    Plow equipment of motor vehicles that are structurally different from tractors has some peculiarity.

    To aggregate equipment on a light walk-behind tractor, pneumatic wheels are replaced with metal wheels (lugs), designed to reduce the load on motor vehicles when plowing. The lugs are mounted using specialized hubs that are installed instead of the transport wheel holders on the axle. The long-length lug hubs, which increase the stability of the machine during plowing, are fixed to the drive shaft by means of pins and cotter pins.

    The implements for plowing the soil with a mass of up to 60 kilograms and a working width of 0.2 to 0.25 meters are especially convenient for functioning with motor vehicles.

    Along with this, an auxiliary ballast weight with a mass of 20 to 30 kilograms is mounted on light motor vehicles, which increases stability during operation.

    Units used for plowing the soil must have at least 2 forward speeds, one of them must be reduced.

    It is undesirable to use units with one gear and weighing up to 45 kilograms for arable work.

    How to install?

    On walk-behind tractors, both plows designed for operation with certain modifications and multifunctional devices operating on the bulk of the units are mounted.

    The tool for plowing the soil on the MTZ Belarus 09N walk-behind tractor is mounted using a standard or multi-purpose coupling device. It is recommended to fix the hitch on the cultivator by means of one kingpin. With such an attachment, which has a 5-degree horizontal free play during plowing, the coupling device reduces the resistance of the soil acting on the unit, and does not allow it to deviate to the side, reducing the load on the plowman.

    To interface the plow and the coupling device, vertical holes located on its pillar are used, which are additionally used to adjust the plowing depth.

    How to setup?

    Adjusting the plow installed on a motor vehicle involves adjusting the plowing depth, setting the field board (angle of attack) and the tilt of the blade.

    For adjustment, practice level platforms with a solid surface.

    The plowing depth is set on the unit, set to simulating plowing conditions, of wood supports, the thickness of which differs from the expected depth by 2-3 centimeters.

    On a correctly tuned agricultural equipment, the field board with its end lies entirely on the surface of the site, and the rack forms a parallel with the inner edge of the lugs and stands at right angles to the ground.

    The degree of inclination of the angle of attack is set by means of an adjusting screw. Turning the screw in different directions, they try to achieve such a position of the angle of attack, in which its heel is placed above the toe of the working part (share) of the plow by 3 centimeters.

    Blade tilt adjustment is performed on the machine, supported by the right lug. Having released the nuts fixing the soil plowing tool to the unit frame, the blade is arranged vertically to the ground plane.

    A tiller with an exposed plow is brought to the place of work, placed with the right lug in the prepared furrow and starts to move at the last reduced speed. When moving, the walk-behind tractor, equipped with a correctly adjusted plow device, rolls to the right, and its plowing tool is vertically to the cultivated soil.

    When the plow is adjusted in accordance with all the requirements, the unit moves smoothly, without sudden jerks and stops, the engine, clutch and gearbox function smoothly, the share tip does not burrow into the soil, and the raised soil layer covers the edge of the previous furrow.
