We decorate flower beds with marble chips

Marble chips are a noble natural material that has been used since ancient times in the improvement of garden estates: they sprinkled paths with it, made decorative embankments, covered the bottom of small garden ponds and, of course, ennobled flower beds and flower beds. When creating garden compositions, it is an indispensable element. Distinctive properties of marble are considered its strength, durability and environmental friendliness.

Marble chips have a huge number of advantages. Here is some of them:

• a wide range of colors and shades: natural (white, gray, pink, black, etc.) and painted (yellow, purple, red, green, etc.);
• combination with various styles of buildings on the site;
• use in any climate;
• immunity to lower temperatures;
• easy movement in case of moving the flower bed;
• affordable price.

In addition, the "horticultural" advantages are invaluable:

• weeds practically do not grow on a flower bed with this material;
• the crumb allows air and moisture to pass through;
• with the right choice of color, the planted flowers and crumbs will harmonize well with each other, forming a single composition.

Marble chips have excellent drainage properties, which is a significant argument for its inclusion in the design of the garden area. The flower beds covered with it create favorable conditions for flowers, which will delight any gardener. But how to properly place the crumb in the flower bed?

For flower beds, pieces of marble ranging in size from 2.5 to 5 mm are most often chosen. To place the crumb correctly, you must follow the instructions.

1. Choose a place for filling.
2. At the chosen place, remove the top layer of soil and add sand, the layer of which should be 5 cm.
3. Place geotextiles on the sand for free passage of water. You can also use polyethylene or tarpaulin (in this case, you should make small holes for water with your own hands).
4. Cover with a layer of crumbs (2–5 cm).
5. Lay out a drawing or pattern (you can mix crumbs of different shades and sizes).

With a crumb size of 2.5-5 mm per 1 m2, you need:

• with a layer thickness of 2 cm - about 26-28 kg;
• with a layer thickness of 4-5 cm - about 60-65 kg.

Using marble chips in the garden, you should rely on the palette of the site's structures. In this case, you can achieve the unity and harmony of the entire space.

In order for the baby to look well-groomed and not lose its natural beauty, it must be properly looked after. But how to do that? The process of caring for marble chips consists of the following points:

• first, remove the top layer of the crumb and place it on the tarp;
• rinse the stones with plenty of water to remove dirt from the surface;
• the next step is sun drying;
• if the dirt has not removed, the crumb should be washed again - in a large container (basin or bath) with the addition of detergents;
• dry;
• at the final stage, the crumb is placed in its original place.

A well-chosen pattern and color of marble chips will help to bring natural charm and originality to the garden, complementing the beauty of the planted plants.
