Selection and installation of dumps for a walk-behind tractor
Winters in our country are quite snowy, so the owners of mansions and private houses in Russia often face a serious problem of cleaning up rubble, clearing paths and exits. For many years, this problem was solved with the most common shovel. This is a good option when it comes to a small area of the local area. But if you need to process a large area, you should think about purchasing a walk-behind tractor with dumps.
Peculiarities
The blade is a type of attachment for any motoblocks, which is designed to perform the following functions:
- clearing snow debris near highways and roads;
- cleaning the yard area;
- leveling the soil;
- cleaning sidewalks;
- raking-raking of garbage.
If the dump is made in the form of a bucket, then in addition to all of the above, it carries out loading operations.
The blades are simple in design and light in weight. Depending on the features of the walk-behind tractor, the blade can be fixed to the front of the mechanism or from the back if the steering column of the walk-behind tractor has the ability to rotate 180 degrees.
Blades can be adjustable or non-adjustable. The former are considered universal. They allow you to set any angle of attack: tilt to the right, tilt to the left. Direct installation is also possible. In the second case, the awnings can be fixed in only one position. It cannot be changed further.
As a rule, dumps are equipped with a wide variety of attachments and accessories:
- knives-attachments, which are designed to level the earth;
- rubber parts that are used for effective snow removal.
Keep in mind that both of them may not be suitable for every walk-behind tractor, so ask in advance about the technical possibility of using such additional equipment.
No springs or slewing gears are used for the production of dumps, so the cost of the equipment is affordable for most homeowners. In areas where snow usually falls in a thick layer, lugs can be used instead of conventional wheels. In this case, moving through the snow-covered area will be easier and more free.
Model rating
Modern industry offers a large selection of running models of dumps, which differ in some technical and operational features and cost. Let's consider the most popular types of products.
- Grunfeld DB360 Is a shovel type snow plow made in China. The weight of the device is 30 kg, the permissible angle of rotation is 30 degrees. The capture width is 900 mm.
- "Neva" - a small-sized blade weighing only 13 kg and a working width of 100 cm. It is used only for motoblocks of the Salyut and Neva types.
- Bertolini 80 cm - a universal shovel, aggregated to the BT 401 and BT 403 units. The capture width is 80 cm.
- LP-1 - universal shovel blade. The weight of the installation corresponds to 16 kg, the parameters of the width and height of the capture are 100 and 40 cm, respectively.
- ZIRKA DB360 - installation weighing 16 kg. Length - 85 cm, width - 28 cm, height - 37 cm.The permissible offset angle is 30 degrees, the working width is 80 cm.
- "Centaur" - a shovel-blade weighing 28 kg. The height of the device is 45 cm, while the offset angle does not exceed 30 degrees, the working width is 100 cm.
- Texas 92000160100 Is a Danish snow plow.It is attached to the walk-behind tractor from the front, it is optimal for clearing snow on the narrowest paths and small adjacent areas, since the working width is only 75 cm. The kit includes a mount.
How to do it yourself?
Many craftsmen prefer to make attachments for their walk-behind tractors on their own. You can focus on absolutely any store modification. At the same time, snow removal equipment does not have to have the same technical characteristics as factory models. For a self-made blade, it is enough to simply cope with its main task - clearing snow. Later, as the operation progresses, you can gradually modernize it, equip it with various additional useful devices.
The most popular material for making such a structure is an old steel barrel with a capacity of 200 liters. In addition, you should prepare a steel strip with a size of 85x10x2 cm.Also you will need a meter-long piece of a square steel pipe with a section of 4x4 cm, bolts with a washer, drills for working on metal, a set of wrenches, a grinder, a plate of thick rubber, as well as a drill and a device for welding.
A two-hundred-liter container ideally matches the goals and objectives of the work, since it already has the necessary degree of roundness from the very beginning. If you take just sheets of metal, then they will need to be preheated well in order to give the required bend.
So, you should take an unnecessary barrel, cut off the bottom and lid. After that, the container is cut lengthwise into 3 equal segments. Two parts are welded together along the edge, and the third is cut with an electric grinder into thin small pieces, which are used to create optimal rigidity. One such strip is attached to the sides of an impromptu shovel, while others are distributed over the area of the device.
In order to enhance the effectiveness of the device, a knife should be made at the bottom of the homemade blade. This will require a steel plate. Several holes with a diameter of about 6 mm are drilled in it with a drill every 10 mm. Then they attach a rubber pad to it, otherwise the blade could damage the road surface when it is time to clean the sidewalks. The bucket is attached to the edge, fixing it with bolts.
When the shovel is done, you should create fasteners for the walk-behind tractor. For this purpose, in the very center of the pipe, a semicircle of dense metal sheet is fastened by welding. Several holes need to be drilled in it, they will be used to adjust the angles of the blade. Then they take another piece of pipe and make an L-shaped holder. Its short side is fixed in a pivoting semicircle, and the remaining long part, through the bolts, clings to the frame of the walk-behind tractor.
However, you can get by with a simpler solution - to make not a bucket, but an ordinary shovel-shaped nozzle-blade. For this, steel sheets with a thickness of about 3 mm are used. Such a device copes well not only with freshly fallen snow, but also with rather caked layers of snow.
To make such a dump, you should prepare the basic tools and consumables:
- 1 sheet of steel 85x70 mm;
- 4 metal plates with L / W / T parameters - 45x23x4 mm;
- a pair of lugs for fixing the main rods;
- bolts as well as washers and nuts;
- set of drills;
- pliers;
- spanners;
- thick rubber plate;
- grinder;
- welding machine;
- drill.
First, a shovel of suitable size and shape is made from an iron sheet. To do this, it is heated with a gas burner and carefully bent in a semicircle. Stiffeners made of metal plates are attached to its back. A rubber strip is fixed on the front. It is advisable to weld on the sides on a thin steel plate, otherwise the device will not be able to hold snow. Small holes are drilled in the central parts of the side walls and a shaft with a screw device is inserted into them.
After the final assembly of the blade, a mouthpiece is made. Through it, the collected snow will be diverted to the side. This requires a wide tube. You can take a regular tap and weld it to the top of the made blade. Make sure to make a wide hole so that snow can flow into the gutter. At the very end of the work, the finished snow blower is covered with a layer of paint, thereby protecting the material from rust.
The independent manufacture of snow removal equipment from improvised means is available to anyone who has the skills to work with electric welding tools. There is nothing complicated here, you just need to have the necessary drawings and materials at hand. At the same time, a set of tools is needed the most standard, which is available in the home workshop of any family. The manufacture of such a canopy allows you to significantly save money, while the quality of cleaning the territory will be quite high.
Blade for motoblocks is a universal equipment. It can be used on a power unit of any model without reference to its power characteristics. It should also be noted that both the shovel itself and the bucket can have a wide variety of dimensions. With their help, you can clear both small paths and wide streets from snow, as well as quickly and efficiently remove garbage from the local area or level the ground without any hassle.
