Russian farmers and summer residents are increasingly using domestic small agricultural machinery. The list of current brands includes "Kaskad" walk-behind tractors. They have proven to be a robust, durable unit for a wide variety of jobs. In addition, it is possible to manually disassemble, adjust and repair an important part - the gearbox.

The gearbox is an important component of the entire walk-behind tractor mechanism. Its task is to transfer torque from the power plant to the wheels. Equipment of the "Cascade" brand consists of a solid body, a base for the necessary parts and assemblies. Axles and bushings are connected using special gaskets and bolts. The basis of the device is formed by separate parts of the structure, these include squares, sprockets, springs. In case of complete wear of spare parts, they can be purchased in specialized stores.

Types of aggregates.

• Downward - in this case, the mechanism provides an increase in the load of the motor, and also reduces the number of revolutions during operation. According to the owners of the gearbox, it is distinguished by its reliability, versatility, due to the use of durable material in the manufacture of each part, as well as equipping with a high-quality cooling system. Another plus of the step-down type is high performance under any load conditions.

• Reverse gear - is a mechanism with a reverse function, which is mounted on the main shaft. True, it has two drawbacks - low speed, poor performance.
• Gear - designed for large size models. Despite the simple design, the robust, reliable case is difficult to maintain.
• Worm - of the main parts, a special screw, a gear worm wheel, stands out. Each spare part is made of durable material, which allows us to call this type of gearbox the most reliable. Of the advantages, the manufacturer distinguishes a reduced angular speed, a higher type of torque. In operation, the gearbox does not make much noise, it works smoothly.

A timely oil change affects the full operation of the device. It is able to provide a high degree of productivity, increase the service life of the walk-behind tractor.

Chains are the first to suffer from increased loads - they jump off due to damage to the bushings. Excessive lateral loads lead to early wear of the support washers, which threatens to malfunction of the chains. In this case, it is not recommended to operate the device on an incline or turn sharply.

Motoblock "Cascade" requires oil to be filled every 50 hours. Before choosing engine oil and fuel, you should study the operating instructions in detail. The "Repair" section contains a list of the manufacturer's recommended substances that are suitable specifically for your model.

In the summer season, it is worth turning to oils of the 15W-40 series, in the winter season - 10W-40, domestic products are also suitable. For transmission, the same are used - TAP-15V, TAD-17I or 75W-90, 80W-90.

When using a walk-behind tractor, it is important not to forget to check the oil level and change it regularly. This is the only way you will be able to extend the working capacity of your land assistant.

To change the oil correctly, the following rules must be observed:

• install the unit in such a way that the wings are parallel to the surface and the gearbox is tilted;
• it is best to put the walk-behind tractor on a hill, so it will be easier to drain the old oil;
• unscrew the filling and drain plugs, do not forget to substitute the container or pallet;
• after draining the old fluid, tighten the drain plug, fill in fresh oil through the filler.

It will not be difficult to disassemble the gearbox of the walk-behind tractor, the main thing is to remove it from the main device.

Step by step description:

• unscrew all the screws;
• remove the covers,
• disconnect the input shaft sleeve;
• dismantle the control fork and the lever;
• pull out the input shaft with the gear;
• remove the shaft from the bushing, and remove the chain from the shaft;
• remove the sprocket block;
• remove the intermediate shaft with gears;
• dismantle the clutch axle shafts, other axle shafts.

Assembling the gearbox is also easy, you need to follow the reverse parsing scheme.

After long-term use of the "Cascade" walk-behind tractor, oil seals may fail. It is important to be able to replace them on your own, otherwise it threatens with oil leakage, followed by wear, malfunction of parts and the entire mechanism as a whole.

Repair recommendations.

• First of all, remove the cutters, they must be cleaned of dirt, fuel residues. The retaining cover must be removed from the unit by unscrewing the connecting bolts.
• Remove the defective oil seal, install a new one in its place, do not forget to lubricate it with oil. Experts recommend treating the splitter with a sealant.
• Some glands are protected by a separate part, in which case a complete disassembly of the equipment will be required.
