Unis 2000 adhesive: characteristics and application

Technical adhesives are distinguished by their quality and reliability. But not every manufacturer offers excellent quality products. Unis 2000 glue is not just a happy exception against the general background, but also a really good, superbly worked example.

Unis 2000 adhesive forms a strong layer and is suitable for bonding a wide variety of ceramic tiles (floor and wall) in dry and humid environments. It is white in color. With its help, you can decorate with tiles the facade of the building, external walls (except for the basement tier). The material allows laying natural stone and porcelain stoneware with a water absorption level of 0.5%, while the size of a single block for walls is 0.3x0.3 m, and for floors - 0.6x0.6 m. Additionally, you can use glue as a base wall equalizer up to 1.5 cm thick.

The main technical characteristics of the adhesive mixture are as follows:

• the possibility of using under the cladding heated screed type "warm floor";
• simultaneous gluing and leveling of drops;
• suitability for joining ceramic and porcelain tiles;
• excellent creep resistance;
• frost resistance; the ability to walk 24 hours after gluing;
• retention strength 1000 kPa.

The prepared solution of Unis 2000 glue can be laid on a wall or floor at temperatures from +5 to +30 degrees. When calculating the need for material, it is necessary to dilute 1000 g of dry composition in 200-240 ml of water. The minimum thickness of the layer to be created is from 0.2 cm. In terms of 1 sq. m, the consumption of glue reaches from 1.35 to 1.45 kg, taking into account the layer thickness of 1 mm. The prepared mixture should be used within 3 hours, otherwise its valuable qualities will be lost. It is advisable to apply the glue in small portions.

For 1 sq. m, you can lay up to 50 kg of tiles, and the resistance to cold (up to -20 degrees) is at least one hundred freeze and thaw cycles. The highest tolerable temperature is +50 degrees. The glue is packed in bags with a capacity of 5, 23 and 25 kg. All information about the mixture is reflected on its packaging, which must be read before use.

Unis 2000 can be used for tiling work even in bathrooms, balconies and terraces. Perfectly balanced composition allows you to use it in a children's room, in a medical and educational institution. The appearance of negative (toxic) substances in the atmosphere when using such an adhesive is completely excluded, since its composition is formed only by cements, mineral fillers and specially selected additives. When it is used for laying tiles on walls, the ceramics must be placed from top to bottom.

When using 25 kg of the mixture, you will have to spend from 4.5 to 5.5 liters of water. Working with the most comfortable spatula measuring 0.6x0.6 cm, you will need to spend from 3.5 to 5 kg of glue per 1 m² of the surface to be finished. The largest bag lasts an average of 5 or 6 m².

It is possible to glue tiles or other material on:

• concrete;
• gypsum;
• brick;
• cement;
• asphalt.

Judging by the reviews, the glue mixture is extremely convenient due to its plasticity. Water does not affect the coating as it retains its strength invariably. The real branded packaging is reinforced kraft paper bags. According to the instructions, the unchanged integrity of the container allows the mixture to be stored for exactly one year from the date of production.Unis 2000 has a certificate of quality in accordance with the standards of the Russian Federation, therefore, it is suitable for repair work at facilities with high requirements for environmental and sanitary parameters.

For the correct use of Unis 2000 glue it is necessary to adhere to the recommendations of specialists:

• you need to apply it to the surface of both tiles and walls, after which the surfaces covered with glue are carefully connected;
• if the substrate is well prepared, the glue will do the job most efficiently;
• the base is freed from water, dust particles, and the uneven relief is smoothed with sandpaper.
• there should be no coatings, decorative materials, oil and bitumen stains, since all this can reduce the level of adhesion;
• on 1000 mm of the base, the deviation from the ideal relief can be maximum 1 mm.

It will be more convenient and safer to work with the composition by wearing gloves. Experts also recommend changing into clothes that you won't mind getting dirty. If the glue gets on the skin, especially in the eyes, you should immediately rinse with plenty of water or under a stream for 10-15 minutes. If these measures did not help, did not remove the problem and negative feelings, you should immediately seek professional help.

Unis is a Russian manufacturer of dry building mixtures that have been in demand for over two decades. The company's products are among the three most demanded products. Unis 2000 glue can be used for marble, limestone and granite tiles, but not thicker than 1 cm. When working with such materials, you can use both notched and conventional spatulas or trowels. In the first case, grooves of a given size are obtained, and in the second, it is possible to increase the thickness of the coating being created.

The maximum adhesive layer thickness is used when it is required to smooth out the most powerful height differences. If the base is so chaotic, sometimes it is more advisable to resort to leveling with plaster or screed in order to save time and increase the reliability of tile laying. Remember that the smallest layer of adhesive in a particular case is equal to or greater than the thickness of the tiles.

When mixing dry material, it is advisable to use a mixer, achieving the final disappearance of the smallest lumps. The set of strength, like all cement-based compounds, takes 28 days, and during the first 14 days it is undesirable to grind the seams. Do not use glue on top of a warm floor. Having familiarized yourself with the properties of the mixture, it is easy to understand that it satisfies even the most stringent technological requirements, provided that the manufacturer's recommendations are followed.
