Making an air washer with your own hands

• A great way to humidify the air is to evaporate the water. For this, any suitable container is placed on the stove in which liquid can be boiled. After boiling, the container is removed on the table, and the vapors continue to fill the room.
• You can simply leave the pan on a low heat for a long time, which will ensure that the liquid evaporates. This procedure can be done all the time while cooking. If you want to facilitate the task of humidifying the air, making a homemade sink will not be difficult. Besides, you can purchase the desired device in the store, on the shelves of which they are presented in a wide range... However, in this case, you need to be ready to spend a decent amount, since there are no particularly budget options yet. Home making will not be too expensive, since most of the materials at hand will be used in the work.

The simplest humidifier can be made from a polyethylene container with a volume of 5–6 liters. You will also need a computer fan, wire, phone charger, a sharp knife, a soldering iron, a marker and microfiber napkins that will absorb moisture. If you have all of the above parts, you can make an air sink with your own hands.

The manufacturing process includes several steps.

1. On the side of the container, it is necessary to mark the places where the cooler will be mounted. You will need a knife to cut a hole for the fan. And also it is worth making notes for the slots for humidified air and recesses for napkins. According to these marks, the necessary holes are burned out with a soldering iron. It should be noted that it is better to carry out work in the open air, since toxic vapors will be released from the contact of the container with heating elements, which can significantly harm health.
2. A loop is made on the wire, after which the fan is fixed with its help. After that, it is threaded through the holes at the bottom, through the fasteners and bent as needed. A cooler is attached, along with a power supply.
3. Next, you need to prepare napkins. On them on the sides you need to make small holes for ventilation. The container is filled up to the middle with water, after which napkins are placed there. This liquid level must be constant, if necessary, it is topped up. For the best possible functioning of the device, the water should be changed daily, and the container and napkins should be rinsed.

And also in the case when dust settles on the inserts, air washing also plays the role of a purifier. For better cleaning, you can place a charcoal filter in the cloth.

Another popular option is to create a humidifier from CDs. The main condition in this case is that the width of the surface from which moisture evaporates will depend on the number of elements. And also the advantage is that the dust is abundantly deposited on the discs, after which it is washed into a pan with water, respectively, the air becomes cleaner. If desired, you can add a few drops of essential oil to create a scent, but the sink will need to be rinsed thoroughly after use.

To create such a device, 50–80 disks are required. The exact amount will depend on the size of the water tank.A plastic or metal axle will serve for mounting discs, and a regular threaded stud with a diameter of 10 millimeters will do. You will need a supply of plastic washers, 2 bearings and nuts. After all the materials are prepared, you can start creating the device.

There are several steps to follow.

1. Remove the top shiny layer from the discs. This is done with ordinary sandpaper or a grinding wheel. The surface will then become porous, it will easily get wet from water, and will not repel dust.
2. Further, the discs are put on a stud, and the gaps between them are provided by washers. Fastening at the ends of the axle is done with nuts.
3. If a plastic tube is used, the discs can be secured with a glue gun or a plastic washer. The bearings are fixed along the edges of the axle, from one of which a pulley is organized, made of 3 CDs, among them the lateral ones are slightly larger than the average. A thin rubber band is put on it, a bank one is quite suitable.
4. In this case, it should be noted that the axis should be larger in size than the container in which it will be located. This is to ensure that the bearings remain outside the device. The pulley is fixed against the motor, which will ensure reliable fixation of the belt, which will not slip. And also it will not be superfluous to fix the computer fan.
