In the production of cabinet furniture, as well as in some other areas, the most popular fastening element is the confirmation. In the process of work, builders call such fasteners "Euro screws" or "Euro screws". To use them correctly, you need to know the dimensions of the confirmations, since to fasten a particular structure, you need to select the appropriate length and diameter.

With the help of euro screws, you can connect parts made of wood of any kind, as well as its derivatives. Externally, the screws look the same. Differences are observed only in the length and diameter of the thread. Confirmates of the following sizes are presented on the modern market:

So, Euroscrew with parameters 6x50 mm belongs to non-widespread models. Euroscrews 16 mm long are also extremely rare. It is also customary to refer to non-widespread confirmations, the parameters of which are: 3x11, 3x13, 4x50, 4x13 and 5x13. As a rule, such options are used when it is necessary to interconnect some isolated elements of cabinet furniture. It will be difficult to buy such confirmations in the store due to the low prevalence.

The accessories are also distinguished by the so-called hat. This part of the confirmation can be of 4 types:

• a semicircular hat (considered the most common option for assembling cabinet furniture);
• countersunk head;
• a hat with 4 or 6 sides.

Before buying and using confirmations for their intended purpose, it is recommended to study in detail their advantages and disadvantages. You should start with the positive aspects of using fasteners of this type:

• when using euro screws, the most durable screed of furniture elements is ensured;
• high-quality grip;
• simplicity of installation work (even a beginner in this business can handle it);
• there is a possibility of installation by means of a mallet.

Also, when using such fasteners, experts note the significant ease and speed of installation work.

There are also disadvantages.

• When using confirmations, furniture can be assembled and disassembled no more than three times. The fact is that the holes increase at the time of untwisting and twisting. Several such attempts carried out will lead to the fact that the holes are so large in diameter that the screw simply does not hold there. Accordingly, the screed will either be weak or absent altogether. This is especially important for inexperienced professionals. If you screw in and unscrew the confirmat several times, the processed parts can be irretrievably damaged.Similarly, in the case of multiple moves, the furniture cannot be disassembled and reassembled more than three times.
• At the moment the screw is screwed into the part, a thread is formed. In the case of an incorrectly selected size, the part may simply deform and become unsuitable for further use.
• When confirms are used to fasten external wood or chipboard parts, their caps may be visible. This requires the use of additional plastic plugs.

Having weighed all the advantages and disadvantages, it is necessary to decide whether to use confirmations in a particular case. If the answer is yes, then when choosing these accessories, you should pay attention to important parameters.

So, the first thing to consider when choosing is the material of manufacture. Manufacturers understand the importance of fasteners, so they create them from very durable stainless steel. For greater effect, they are coated with zinc. But on the market you can often find fakes. They are distinguished by a fragile material (at the moment of tightening, such euro screws can even bend or break). Poor quality fasteners can rust, which in turn ruins the look of your furniture.

You also need to pay attention to the weight of the screws. They should be moderately heavy. Too weighty or, conversely, suspiciously light - a clear sign of a fake. It is better to refuse to purchase such fasteners. Confirmates can be shiny or matte. Those that appear overly clean on visual inspection can also be fake. The thread on each Euroscrew must be complete and precise. Another sign of high quality is a flat hat.

One should not lose sight of such an important indicator as the cost of screws. They are sold in sets or per piece. But too low a price in either case should alert you.
