Not a single modern dacha is complete without a barbecue. Groups of friends gather around him. Everyone wants to try baked, healthy and tasty dishes. The home master is quite capable of supplying a stationary brazier on his own. You just need to choose the material from which the brazier will be made, and study the instructions for installing it.

Manufacturing of a metal stationary barbecue

  • You need to take a sheet of iron and mark it with chalk. The layout should correspond to the drawing plan.
  • Using a jigsaw, a hacksaw for metal or a grinder, cut out the bottom and sides of the future barbecue.
  • At the bottom of each wall, the same holes must be drilled along the entire perimeter. This is necessary in order for the air to flow better, and the coals flare up faster. The bottom should also be perforated with an angle grinder for better air circulation.
  • In the walls of the barbecue, make recesses with a grinder for laying skewers. They should be symmetrical with the holes on the opposite side. The distance between them must be the same.
  • Assemble the sides and bottom of the barbecue and weld in the form of a rectangular box. This is the main part of the brazier. The seams formed after welding must be cleaned. Do it with a grinder. After that, they become smooth and neat.
  • The legs of the barbecue are made from a reinforcing bar or steel corners, which are welded to the corners of the structure. If you have the opportunity and desire, you can make the legs unscrew. To do this, to the bottom, to each corner, you need to weld a nut, and make a thread on the reinforcing bar. The diameters of the nuts and fittings must completely match. At the end of the season, the legs can be unscrewed and removed.

A cast iron barbecue will look best outdoors. It can be easily made by hand, but its optimal thickness must be selected.

Barbecue finishing

The use of paints is unacceptable, since at high temperatures they will burst, peel off, smell unpleasant. There is a risk of hazardous chemical compounds being absorbed by the meat.

At the moment, manufacturers of paints and varnishes have created special coatings for barbecues, which are absolutely safe. They do not harm grilled vegetables and meat dishes. But still, there is always a risk of damage to the coating, since the heat inside the structure has a very high temperature. Therefore, it is better to use heat-resistant coatings for finishing.

Types of heat-resistant coatings:

  • Enamel based on organosilicon compounds. It can withstand temperatures up to + 600 ° C.
  • Powdered heat-resistant paints are ideal for aesthetically pleasing barbecues, but they are very difficult to use and apply.
  • You can fire the brazier yourself at home. The prepared box of the product is processed with sulfuric acid (5% solution), boiled in lye solution, then boiled for two hours in sodium solution. After all these rather complicated manipulations, a non-stick coating is obtained on the grill, which will prevent the appearance of corrosion.

This method cannot be called completely safe, since chemical acid and alkali are used.

Brick brazier

To create such a structure, you first need to draw up a drawing, choose a location and calculate how many building materials are required.

The choice of location is the most important step. In theory, you can install a brazier inside the structure, but for safety reasons, it is better to take it outside the house. It is necessary to take into account the landscape of the site, the style of the house, so that the barbecue fits perfectly. The choice of the site determines the technical features of the structure, its size, shape and the presence of additional boxes for coal. All this should be recorded on the drawing.

Site selection criteria.

  • Smooth surface. It is better to erect a structure in a prepared area covered with fire-resistant bricks. The area is usually located near the terrace, for example, in a leisure area.
  • The wind rose must be taken into account so that the smoke does not go towards people or neighbors. The best way is to make the smoke go up.
  • It is better to place a brazier near a country house or resting place.

There is no need to load the site with buildings. One barbecue, bench and gazebo will be enough.

    A stationary brick grill is not just a rectangular box. There must be a chimney in it. Grill shelves can be placed inside it. Some types of barbecues include an oven, smokehouse. Such multifunctional products will help you prepare a varied number of dishes. You can put a sink and lead the water pipes to the brazier.

    It often happens that over time, various elements begin to be added to a simple brick structure: compartments for storing skewers, dishes, coal. All components do not have a common style. To make everything look perfect and work well, you need to immediately think over all the elements at the drawing stage.

    Materials:

    • cement mortar;
    • lime;
    • reinforcing mesh and reinforcing rods;
    • sand and wire;
    • metal corners;
    • fire-resistant brick;
    • stainless steel plate to protect the chimney.

    Instruments:

    • metal spatula;
    • pick;
    • bucket;
    • shovel;
    • plumb line and level.

    It is impractical to use a special stove stone for arranging the foundation and erecting walls. Red brick will do the job just fine. The combustion chamber should be protected with a metal box. This will extend the life of the brick. The table top can be made of ceramic tiles.

    Mortars of various types are used for pouring foundations and for masonry. Masonry mortar is more flexible and fire resistant. There are specialized mixtures on the building materials market that are not afraid of high temperatures.

    First, they prepare the foundation, for which they dig a trench about half a meter, fill it with rubble and rubble, put the formwork. Prepare a cement mixture (1: 3) and fill it with a reinforcing mesh. This is done in layers, the iron should not lie at the bottom. Under conditions of a shallow trench and flat walls, the formwork can be omitted. From above, everything is covered with roofing material or a thick film.

    The time for complete solidification of the foundation is about two weeks. After that, you can start laying bricks.

    Masonry mortar

    To prepare it, you will need the following materials: cement, lime and sand. Add water to the dry mixture, bring to the desired density and mix thoroughly.

    Barbecue construction

    • The plinth can be made in a variety of styles. The initial row of bricks is advised to be laid dry. Fireclay brick has a high rate of water absorption, so it must be moistened before work. This will avoid unforeseen situations. The laying should be carried out clearly according to the developed sketch.
    • The design of the future barbecue must be stable. To do this, you need to start laying the second row of bricks from the corners, gradually filling the partitions with it. The brick is placed in a checkerboard pattern.
    • It is advisable to know how to lay each brick row.Then it will be easier to imagine the lining of the barbecue. Each owner decides for himself what width and length his structure will have.
    • The building level and plumb line are the first assistants in checking the plane of the structure. They help to avoid skewing. Use tools every three rows.
    • The most difficult and crucial stage is the laying of the brazier. At its base, you need to place reinforcement and metal corners between two opposite sides.
    • The stove is ordered from high density metal. To improve its performance, it is advised to leave a couple of holes free from the masonry mixture. Air will pass through them, and the fire will flare up more. If you arrange the bricks at different levels, then you can arrange a place for a metal grate.
    • Next, walls and a smoke collector are erected, which will accumulate flue gases and divert them into the chimney. The pipe rests on support columns and tapers upwards.

    The final stage

    When all the work on the construction of a stationary barbecue made of bricks is completely finished, you can start using it.

    There are some more tips for its appearance:

    • you can make additional compartments for storing things;
    • ennoble the appearance by applying decorative trim;
    • protect from precipitation by building a roof that can be made from different materials.
    • combine the design of the roof with the house.

    The best option is a stationary gazebo with a barbecue. It can be either metal or brick. The furnace tube will exit through the roof. The gazebo is universal. In one side you can receive guests, in the other you can cook.

    It should be remembered that you need to take care of a place for storing firewood in advance. For this, a wall is equipped on which fireplace accessories will hang and firewood will lie. It is necessary to equip a workplace for cooking and placing kitchen utensils.

    Brazier is a great place near which large groups of friends and relatives will gather. The better equipped it is, the more pleasure you can get from cooking meat, fish or vegetables. This is a complex structure, the construction of which must be taken seriously. Consider many factors and conditions. The brazier will not only decorate your site, but will delight you and your friends.
