Description of the variety
Nizhegorodets is a remontant and very large-fruited variety. Due to its unpretentious care and high taste, gardeners called this plant super raspberry. The bush is highly spreading, it grows of medium height, reaches a height of 170-190 cm. Annual shoots have an anthocyanin coloration, are covered with a weak waxy bloom, do not have pubescence. Biennial fruiting stems are light brown in color. The branches are covered with hard, stiff thorns, which are located throughout the stem, there are more of them at the base, less above the base. The spines are medium in size, pale purple in color. Leaves are small, medium-sized, green, slightly wrinkled, slightly coiled, slightly lowered. The edges of the leaves are serrated.

Growing features
You can plant raspberries in autumn and spring. If the planting of raspberries is planned for the fall, then in the spring it is necessary to start preparing the site. It will be very good to sow siderates: mustard or lupine, also rye. Before planting raspberries, about a month you need to dig up the ground with green manure. In the case of planting raspberries in spring, the soil must also be prepared, but this must be done starting in autumn. It is necessary to clear the soil of weeds and dig up the ground, then fertilize the soil with inorganic fertilizers, you can also add rotted manure. The disembarkation is done in April. Planting holes should be 40-50 cm deep and about 40 cm wide. The distance between the rows should be within 1 m 80 cm. It is recommended to plant in autumn 3-4 weeks before frost.
Site selection and soil preparation
The place where you plan to plant raspberries should be well lit, protected from the winds. The soil should be slightly moist, light. Before planting, the land must be dug up, inorganic fertilizers, manure, compost or ash must be applied.
Pruning
In the spring, it is necessary to prune dry and damaged stems, for this you need to wait until the first buds begin to bloom. The next method is to remove all two-year-old shoots, leaving only one-year ones. The third way is to cut off all the shoots. This method will reduce the risk of plant disease.
Watering and feeding
The Nizhegorodets variety has a high drought resistance, so you can water it once a week, this will be enough. Watering should be done in moderation, as stagnant water has a bad effect on the roots, they can rot. For one bush, 2 buckets of water will be enough. During flowering and the appearance of fruits, watering should be done after 5 days, if the weather is dry and hot. In order to keep the soil moist in the raspberry tree for a long time, you need to periodically mulch. Drip irrigation works very well.
Frost resistance and preparation for winter
Raspberries tolerate frost well. For better wintering, it will not hurt to completely cut off all the shoots. After that, the raspberry tree needs to be fertilized with organic fertilizers and a little loosened up the soil. It is important not to damage the roots. You can not cut off the shoots, but bend them to the ground and cover with dry leaves.
Diseases and pests
Nizhny Novgorod is well resistant to disease and pests. But for prevention, it is necessary to spray the bushes with Bordeaux liquid twice a year. This should be done before flowering and after harvest.
Unfortunately, raspberries, like other plants, do not bypass various diseases and pests. Only armed with the knowledge and the necessary means for this, you can cope with such troubles. To help the plant, it is very important to be able to recognize the disease in time and begin timely treatment.
Reproduction
Raspberries give little young growth, so gardeners resort to propagation by cuttings. For this, both green and lignified cuttings are used. Cut the cuttings so that there are 2-3 leaves on them, the lower part of the cuttings is cut and dipped in "Kornevin" for a day. Then the cuttings are planted on a film or in a greenhouse. It is necessary to ensure that the ground is constantly slightly moistened.
