Remontant raspberry varieties

Reparability is the ability of a plant to bear fruit many times. With regard to strawberries, remontant varieties yield crops from late spring to autumn.

Initially, these types of strawberries were bred specifically for the southern regions of our country, since the climate there helps to get the berry harvest repeatedly. Later, such plants began to be planted in northern latitudes, using greenhouses for this. Now remontant strawberries are planted in the open field, even in the middle lane.

Of the main features of such varieties, the following can be noted:

• every 35-40 days on the bushes, the formation of new inflorescences is observed;
• daylight hours in no way affect the number and quality of flower buds laid;
• the warmer it is outside, the more harvest you can get from the remontant strawberry bushes in the fall;
• such varieties can bloom at a temperature of 8-10 degrees;
• in spring, the bushes give only about 20% of the total harvest that can be obtained per season.

It is important to know that usually remontant strawberries do not differ in winter hardiness, therefore, when grown in open ground, they often require shelter.

Nurseries have proven themselves quite well, but according to the law they can sell only those varieties that are in the State Register for a given region. You can buy something new for yourself for planting at the fair, but judging by the reviews, it is better to cooperate only with nurseries from other regions, fruit growing institutes.
