How to make a lock on a gate with your own hands?

You just need to choose the most acceptable type of mechanism, find out the assembly and installation algorithm.

Modern craftsmen assure that it is possible to make bolts or locks designed to close the gate of a private house from any material. However, metal and wood proved to be the most effective. When choosing metal locks to fix the structure, you can use a welding machine. If there is none, metal elements are fastened with bolts or self-tapping screws. A strong iron rod is suitable as the main material of the hook lock. However, it is impossible to bend it with pliers, and even more so with your hands. The presented version of the mechanical lock works according to the following principle. The man pulls up the handle. Due to the action of the spring, the lock opens and closes as well. For greater ease of use, on the other side, a loop for the rope should be welded onto the tip of the rod, which will go out into the street.
