Self-tapping screws are indispensable if the frame of the fence is metal. The elements can be a single canvas without gaps or be installed at a certain distance from each other.

• Horizontal. If the fence supports are made of wood, the slats are attached to them. To strengthen the structure (so that the fence does not sag over the years), 2-3 vertical beams can be fixed between the posts.

There are a lot of stitching methods for it, this is a checkerboard, continuous stitching, stitching with a gap.

• Lattice. To obtain a beautiful and neat fence made of thin slats, you can order ready-made sections from specialists. If this item is not considered, and you want to build a fence yourself, it is important to observe the distance between the elements of the fence.

Self-tapping screws or nails are used for fasteners. The top of the fence can be left flat or made in a semicircle.

• From corrugated board. Fence profiles are steel sheets with longitudinal profiling.

A wide selection of corrugated board is available to the buyer: it comes in a variety of colors. Profiled sheeting can be combined with other materials, and it does not require special installation skills from installers. Fastening the slats means fixing them at a distance of about 7 cm from each other.

• Plastic. A plastic fence is an excellent choice for a summer residence. The material is beautifully painted, and the surface can be very different: mirror, matte, textured. Most often, openwork and wicker options are used to fence flower beds. The solid PVC wall protects against wind, dust and unwanted glances from strangers.

The wicker fence is made from both thin and thick slats. The location is possible in different versions: horizontal or vertical.

By combining, you can achieve a unique hedge. Plastic panels, interspersed with openwork inserts, create an attractive fence.

2. The slats are attached at a distance of about 7 cm from each other.

3. The necessary materials for work must be prepared in advance. Clamps, screws or rivets can be purchased at any hardware store.

4. The corrugated board fence includes a standard installation procedure. Particular attention should be paid to the installation of the supports - they must be properly strengthened and located at the same level.

5. Sections and crossbars are attached to the supports, taking into account the design feature. They are assembled from lamellas.

6. The fence lamellas can be assembled in any form: horizontal or vertical.

A fence made of wooden slats is called a picket fence. This design is easy to install. For slatted fencing, it is advisable to select lumber from trees such as pine, cedar or spruce. The design will last a long time, which is a significant plus. The wood must be knot free and of the same color.

Installation is carried out in several stages.

1. The first step is to align the line where the fence will be installed.

2. In the corners, where the end of the fence will be, you need to install pillars, and pull a rope between them.

3. Between the supports along the line where the marking took place, it is necessary to mount steel piles. On average, the installation depth of each support should be 1 m, and the width should not exceed 2.5 m.

4. When the posts are installed, the next step is to attach the horizontal bars. They can simply be nailed to a post.

5. Fence sections are selected depending on the size of the spans. They need to be fixed between the support pillars.

6. Modular rail fences include special grooves in their design - sections are inserted into them very simply, as in a constructor.

The metal fence looks very impressive. It is installed in a variety of positions. Such a fence is incredibly beautiful, it serves for a long time and copes with any load. It only periodically needs to be wiped from dust for aesthetic beauty.

The procedure for installing a metal fence.

1. Steel strips are covered with several layers of protection (with this manipulation, the material looks even more beautiful).

2. The first step is to carry out the markup. For this, wooden pegs and ropes are used in the work.

3. The pegs must be driven into the ground in the place where the supports are located, and then pull the rope between them (similar to installing wooden rails).

4. Pipes of rectangular or square cross-section are welded to the posts. With a high fence height, you will need 3 logs.

5. The picket fence can be fixed with galvanized self-tapping screws: each rail is attached from both sides to horizontal lags. For 3 lags, you will need 5 self-tapping screws, if there are less of them, for example, 2, then 4 self-tapping screws will be enough for one bar.

You can create an enviable fence with your own hands. The most common types of fences are made of wooden picket and solid. Owners of suburban areas are attracted by these views because of the ease of installation and the possibility of making a fence in any style.
