How to repair a swing gate?

• locking mechanisms.

Precipitation could fall on the loops, condensate could settle due to the temperature difference, as a result of which the loops could lose their smooth rotation property and they begin to jam. You can eliminate this moment by dropping liquid solid oil or machine oil into the loop mechanism, at the same time the sash must be gradually shaken so that their course is completely unblocked.

In situations where the gate leaves are open for a long time, the support pillars may be skewed. In order to prevent this from happening, it is required to install a protection - to drive a wedge between the ground and the edge of the open gate leaf.

If the skewing of the support pillars has already occurred, it will be quite difficult to fix this defect. To do this, it will be necessary to remove the gate leaves from the hinges and reinstall the support pillars, strengthen the soil and re-cement them.

This malfunction occurs in metal gates.This is due to deformation of the structure, which, in turn, is caused by the absence of crossbars on the sash frame.

In order to eliminate the sagging of the sashes, you will need to remove them from the hinges, disconnect the frame from the canvas, align and strengthen it, then install the crossbars. Then you can re-mount the canvas and install the gate leaves.

This breakdown is quite rare, but it still causes a lot of inconvenience.

In cases where the lock of the gate is a structure of an eyelet and a gate valve, the repair will not be difficult. The problem in such cases is the curvature of one of the elements. Therefore, it will be enough just to straighten the deformed part.

If a mortise locking mechanism is provided in the swing gate, repairing it will require more effort and time. You will need to remove the mortise mechanism and send it for repair, if it cannot be repaired, replace it with a new one.
